Also bemoaning Vitali his height and reach is like saying 'if Ali wasn't born so fast' or 'ernie shavers wasn't so powerful'. These are things he was born with with. If there are no boxers fast, tough, or intelligent enough to get around these things don't blame Vitali.
I don't rate Wlad too highly overall but I think Vitali is right up there. When he hits people with that right hand it scares even the toughest of the tough, which is what Adamek is. Alhough undersized he has been a solid fighting machine for years. The look in his eyes when that big right first landed was shock. I seen the same happen to Lennox and he retired (wisely) rather than train for three months with the the end result being he was going to feel it again. I don't think he'd have fought Vitali again for any realistic amount of money.

If an american force comes back into the sport then we can expect the division to considered hot again but as the US seem to lack any sort of Amatuer grounding these days expect to be ruled by easten block Athletes
I think there is some bias regarding the Americans effectively losing control over the heavyweight scene, but i think that Stewards opinions are given with quite a bit of objectivity and clarity, given that what he has done in the sport and what he has personally achieved. I think the point i was making and using Steward to validate in someway was that i recognise that the division hasn't always been strong and we can all point to periods or era's that where weaker than others, but todays divison is chronically weak, to the point that after the Klitschkos' retire, i can see the division fading away from view and being almost defunct.

That's a bit misleading, he did come back into the fight and rip him to shreds to take the win before retiring

Lennox was training for Kirk Johnson and not Klitschko and thought "He will be a push over" hence he was not in condition and nearly lost that fight. Lennox was so fatigued that the cut eye saved him from an almost certain loss to Klitschko. However, if they would have had a re-match, then a properly conditioned and focused Lennox would have beaten Klitschko quite easily
