Corrie Sanders is slated to face Juan Carlos Gomez on April 3 on Showtime. That's as much as I know of the details for now, but one thing I do know is this: stick your money on the Cuban.

Never in the big time despite an exciting style when in his youth, now that he is given a lifeline at teh end of his career he is to face a southpaw mover???

Oh well, he should be back on the golf course perfecting his swing before the end of the year.

I was very impressed with Gomez when he beat Sam and I think Gomez will comfortably win his fight against Corrie.

Gomez will be on his toes for the first couple of rounds then go onto win comfortably on points or by late KO

Yeah Corrie's not being matched very well by the sounds of it. Tua was in the running for awhile, and there's no way he was gonna win that one.

If I were managing him I'd go 100% for a Wlad rematch - the guy still looked a bit shell shocked last time out and I think Sanders would probably repeat the dose in a rematch.

Though saying that, the Germans would probably have a load of options in there, including ownership of his first born child.

Don't write Corrie off, Sam seemed to stun Gomez a few times. Corrie for all his faults has better handspeed and power than Sam. I'd pick Gomez, but I think I would pick him against most heavies.

Lets not forget, Sanders KO'd the universally recognised #2 guy in Wladimir, so he's in the big league. When your in the big league you must face the big fighters.

I think he stands more of a chance against Gomez than he would against Jones, Tua and Toney (the three names I heard he's been negotiating with). Brewster would have been an easier option yes, but he does need to show he belongs in the level.

So I disagree that Corrie's been given a rough deal, he's in the big league he's got to fight the big league fighters, Gomez is one of them.

Real_Deal i also posess a lot of earlier Gomez material against Guy Sonnenberg, Valery Vikhor, Ted Cofie, Mike Robinson, Guy Waters,
Rodney Gordon, Pietro Aurino all at Cruiserweight and i must confess. And i thought what was all the fuss about? He looked okay when he had it all his own way but as soon the opponent backed him up he looked ruffled. Indeed in my tradition of shoddy predictions i picked Sam to beat him!! (I also backed Williamson to stop Mesi on the same bill ) but he made a mockery of Sam and made him look a slow plodding fat man. I pick him to do the same to Sanders, So therefore i go....Gomez TKO6 Sanders

he should of taken on Lamon Brewster instead of dawdling, waiting around for the Big Fights to come, hes done enoguh of waiting around... around 4 years to be exact!!!

I was glad Corrie beat Wlad but now he is just burning out, Mr Sanders should just now go back to playing golf... His time in Boxing is nearly over!!!
