Lewis - always rooted against him as I found his jab, jab, jab style boring, but he left a gaping hole in the HW division and boxing in general, I'd give anything for someone like Lewis to be here to fight the Klitchko's. I also greatly under-appreciated his skills

Lewis on Twitter has gone a long way to making me like him more too, the other day Mike Tyson tweeted something along the lines of "I'm so glad I'm making my children happy by not eating meat anymore", Lewis re-tweeted and added "My kids are VERY happy about this" haha genius!

Lennox. coolest man in boxing.

Fury I change my mind all the time - in interviews he comes accross well, yet in some press releases he sounds arrogant. But overall I thin he's good for boxing so I welcome him

I dunno it seems mostly a positive thread, with people talking about how they didn't like someone that much to start with and then won them over. And if there's a few posts about going off a fighter, then that's OK. Look at all the positive stuff about Froch and Khan. I don't think it's that bad.

Yeah, was just pissing about. Khan and Froch are great shouts. Both had doubters in the past but you can't knock them over recent fights. I was a huge Taylor fan going into his fight with Froch, still am in fact, but Carl made a believer of me that night

Sure. Cool. I suddenly started to see the humor in what you wrote as I was typing my reply, that's why I put the little bit at the end about being ironic. I like Taylor too and he get's too much disrespect. He beat Hopkins TWICE and was still giving Froch a lot of problems and nearly had Pavlik KO'd in the first fight. People like to downplay Pavlik and Froch's wins over him saying maybe he was never that good in the first place. But he was very good. That said, I hope he hangs them up now.

Calzaghe and Lennox Lewis.. I didnt appreciate them enough during their time but now that they are gone, I realize how great they were.

Currently though, Kell Brook.. I thought he was a real talent but the more I see him, I find myself becoming less and less interested.. He's not that good.

I always thought Clinton Woods was a solid pro, then the night he hammered Rico Hoye and subsequent performances saw my respect for him rise significantly. Plenty of skill and ability to match his heart and belief.

I used to find Herol Graham boring but eventually started enjoying his fights.

I never liked Small. I first saw him on that UK vs the US contender thing, and thought he was a douchebag who shouldn't have got the nod over the yank who was very respectful and likeable. He only got worse and worse until we have the idiot we have today.

That's an interesting opinion. I did actually like Small, but he'd come to my attention some time before the contender - he was talking about world titles by the time that press conference came around He fought Walter Wright, who was fairly condescending to fellow competitiors during the actual contender series though, particulary K9. I always thought Wright had some talent, but he's only fought once since 2007. No idea why...

Can I say that I'm really starting to warm to Dereck Chisora? Cocky as hell and funny in a very mental way in the build up to the Helenius fight and HE BACKED IT UP!

Wladimir K after his Sky interviews I have really warmed to him simply because he seems a decent fellow.

I agree with both there. Seriously hope khan get filled in, and i think the whole of britain warmed to Wlad with the way he came across, and even better when he knocked the arrogant shit haye from pillar to post.

Most underrated British boxer of recent years, for me. Technically, very very good.

Positive:

I really disliked Froch at first, thought he had a very inflated opinion of himself and that his talk exceeded his potential; about as wrong as I could be. Fantastic attitude to the sport at a time when that is very rare, and I've been fortunate enough to get to know him a bit and he's a top bloke, very down to earth.

I didn't appreciate Lennox Lewis enough during his career but for someone who was seemingly so aloof he seems to be a great guy as well as a great fighter. He truly seems to enjoy the support and appreciation of his fans an often sends persona messages / phone calls. A class act in every sense of the word.

Negative:

I loved Hamed despite finding his personality to be grating but the way he lost heart after losing saw him really go down in my estimation; greatness for me is measured in adversity and he was found wanting IMO.

Along with Naz, Holyfield and Jones were my favourite boxers of the 90s, Holyfield especially, but in my eyes both are tainted by their associations with drugs and by fighting on way too long.
