He got stopped, fairly badly and will need a fight to build up his confidence. A rematch with Mitchell I could kind of understand but moving up a significant level against a massive guy at the weight in America just seems like a bad idea.

Lets not forget the problems surrounding Murray, changing trainer, issues with the booze add to that the way he lost, I'd say give him a few fights to get back into the swing of things.

Amir Khan?? Knocked out worse than Murray, to a poor guy, then beat Barerra then onto a world title.

I dont think Murray will win this fight but he doesn't deserve the slating he is getting

Think you are missing the point mate. Not saying John can't come back and become a world titlist (although that may be a stretch), its just he needs to rebuild after a tough loss. Khan fought Fagan as a comeback from Prescott before Barrera and then faced Kotelnik. Those are the two sort of fights Murray needs before Rios.

Murray doesn't become a bad fighter after one defeat. Its threads like this that helps people believe keeping the '0' is important.

People shouldnt rule out Murray though, Mitchell and Khan have showed you can rebound from a loss, and if he treats this fight properly (doesnt go out on the lash), which he should now that he's moved camps, he could very well put Rios down, honestly cant see him winning though as someone mentioned, Rios is a much better version of Murray.

Gutted for Kev though, I guess it's about that business which The Sun made a big deal of a few months back.

Over on current scene, somebody mentions Kev was offered the fight but had to turn it down for legal reason's, interesting. Maybe he cant get a visa?

Bad timing for John - if it'd come one fight ago, his confidence would have been sky high. Not now though....but he's got to look at it like a huge 2nd chance - work like hell over the next few months on head movement and defence.

Who's training him now ? Jimmy Tibbs would be a good call - experienced head to go over to NY with him.
