i wouldnt entertain mcintosh. mainly he dont want it & bellew wont see it as a challenge plus he can stink out a gaff when he turns into survival mode.

i want too see bellew defend his british & fight for the e.b.u & box some decent international operators & arrive on time at world level.

he showed stamina,durability,skill & courage v cleverley. the man ticks all boxes & is going all the way imo.

Yep agree that McIntosh would be the sensible next step. Good match up.

Clev aside, I wonder who Bomber would like his next opponent or two to be......

He could fit in McIntosh or Dodson next. Boxing wise they both make sense but for different reasons I don't think the fights can be made. Quigley and Fry are good fights but Bellew might lose momentum taking those fights.

To guarantee that momentum is kept, Bellew should fight Gutknecht next. I think he can stop Gutknect and obviously there's a European title there. With Warren and Suaderland having good relationships this is probably the best and most likely option.

After that then Murat would be an ideal fight to secure a big call for a Clev rematch in about 18 months-2 years time. There's the common factor of Clev and I think the Tony of Saturday night would win a wide points decision against Murat.

Yeah, i can understand that. There's a swell of people who wanna see both men move on from each other and go in different directions. Im just an absolute sucker for domestic rivalries.

Really based on what, bellews probably one of the toughest guys in the divsion, he doesnt exactly go into his shell when he's put down. Put him in with any of guys around the same level of experience as him and i think he's favourite in most cases.

If I were Bellew's Manager I would be advising him to maintain his position as British & Commonwealth Champion before aiming for the European title.

Could Bellew in a word title? I think the fight against Cleverely proed he still has some way to go before he challenges for another World crown.

That said, I don't think the European Title is out of the question for "The Bomber", but there is absolutely no reason to rush it.


So, I would say 2 defences of his British & Commonwealth titles - keep busy fights, try to iron out the mistakes.

And that would be a great short-term comeback for Bellew.

I'd say go for a guy who high in the rankings with the world bodies, will give him a learning fight, but not the biggest risk yet.

id like to see him try and win the lonsdale belt outright and then go for another sell out echo arena night against a dodson or go fo the EBU champ.

I agree. maybe one more defence prior to Dodson. The IBO title is something he could bring to the table in a world level fight to secure himself a better payday. Granted it wont get him much more leverage but the fight would sell better.

I don't want to see the Dodson fight. Dodson has looked decent recently but I feel he'd get hurt here. Plus, they're good mates.

I completely agree with you mate. You've proven to the world what a good boxer you are, I don't see the point of hanging round at domestic level any more. People like Dodson, Quigly, Macintosh, etc aren't going to be the fights to "get up" for. I'd like to see you go for the Euro shot, get a couple of defences in and go for a proper world title or rematch Cleverley.

In Ricky Hatton's book he says he was stagnating at times because he wasn't fighting people good enough, hopefully Frank W will keep you in good, meaningful fights.

personally I thought Tony was outboxing cleverly for 6 rounds and looked so classy doing it with that jab of his. if he had kept that up he would have won that fight handily so Tony has proved beyond doubt he belongs at the upper echleons of his division and would like to see either a rematch with cleverly or a shot at the euro which will lead to another world title. Tony won't be up for domestic competition I think as he knows he is above that. GO ON TONY

Saying he needed a suit of armour to fight Bomber set the tone of things. He's now since said he'll obliterate Tony. Let's hope it gets made.

I don't know why everyone is predicting a rematch taking place. I really can't see there being another fight between for maybe another 3-4 years, and (before someone calls me a "Bellew Hater" again ) we don't really need one.

I know that Tony wants a rematch, but what reason would Cleverly fight him again? Clev has already beat him in Tony's hometown and this victory has put Cleverley very much in the accendency.

While Cleverley is prominent (between the two) and holding a World Title there are other challenges out there for him (Braehemer, Shumenov) and a host of other fights for hi to explore...
And the same can be said for Bellew, though he lost he looked good. And should he choose to drop his British & Commonwealth Titles, I'm sure there are some Intercontinental/International titles out there which beckon for him.

But we all know that the rematch is not gonna happen any time soon... And some people really need to let it go.
