Well it wasn't the Anderson fight that had people questioning his chin - it was in the amateurs, then he seemed to get stunned in his American debut.....the Anderson fight seemed to confirm all this, but to be fair to George, he came back and showed real guts that night - so maybe his chin is good enough.

Smith is a tougher test than Anderson.

Yeah and it stood up to the test. He got caught, went down, got up, and knocked him out.

degales chin is hugely underestimated along with his strength :!: he was walking groves down who moved exeptional on the night i dont think smith can bully groves & is way to tense to bring the right game.

Can't see this at all. Smith is a constant under-performer who has largely flattered to deceive in his pro career and definitely belongs at middle rather than super-middle. Groves by clear points for me.

I think it's an interesting fight. Groves needs to box in a completely different way to the way he did against Degale, as he will need to hold his ground more. It is a similar fight to the one he had against Anderson, when he was virtually beaten until Anderson (who had 2 weeks preparation) gassed. I'd pick Smith to beat Anderson. So it's a mental test for Groves to show that he is improving and hasn't got carried away by the DeGale win.

if groves boxes like he did v degale he'll stand smith on his head.booth aint gonna let his fighter go in there & try blowing out smith they are going to let him fall short as he is allways that half step off throwing homeruns & brawling forward. booth understands how tough & proud smith is bashing him could get his foot in the door & it wont happen :!:

not sure what smith is going to do tbh.i think he is looking trimmer then ever & i would favour him more if he came in lighter 73.5

as for mentioning & emulating benn & co. he is around 30 & they had world titles at 23-24??

i aint going to write smith off he aint no mug & i hope he uses his pedigree in this bout & he has a good chance i think the quigley fight taught him he cant chop down trees at 12st.

I dont think so, anderson didnt beat groves. Also Degale isnt a big puncher so if he was too much for smith i think maybe Degale and groves are levels above him. Smith great domestic fighter but Groves is another league.

Im not even convinced smith could beat anderson, but that would be a great fight.

As someone else mentioned, he's largely flattered to deceive, most of his impressive wins have been over pretty low level opponents. His style is ugly as hell, completely different to how he looked as an amateur.

Groves will probably win a clear decision, but a late stoppage wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Smith isn't quick enough on his feet to get to Groves IMO, and doesn't punch with enough authority.

The Anderson fight taught Groves to be more economical in his movements, rather than lolloping around waving his arms here there and everywhere trying to look flash.

I can see Groves planting his feet a bit more and winging in those hooks to the body, making Smith stand in front of him all night. It's a handpicked fight for him to look superb, IMO.

With Smith`s ugly grappling style and Grove`s relative lack of experience as a pro, this has got messy annoying fight written all over it.

I see this as a very competitive fight, don't see Smigga as a big underdog at all. I can't read too much into their results vs DeGale, who I thought edged Groves BTW. That was a special fight for George and Smigga has since changed to a very confident training set up. The fight might surprise a few, I think it will be very hard and very close, probably a split or majority decision whoever wins - but win or lose, I bet afterwards George will say it was his toughest fight.

I think Paul will do it, we have always been quick to have a go at each other on here but I've got a feeling he will do it! Kenny Anderson was doing really well until he ran out of steam! Don't get me wrong I don't think groves is chinny far from it but from what it looked like to me is he struggled with his physical strength! I think the fight will look in favor for groves the first four rounds but I think Paul none stop comming forward an cutting the ring down will start to get to groves! I think Paul will win on score cards in a belta seasaw fight

that tickled me. I don't like him either and also don't know why.

Smith is a god fighter and decent puncher.... but at Super Middle should be too small for Groves

Maybe when groves wins we'll get to see the fight everyone is talking about - Groves v Khan!
