Re: how did you score burns vs katsidis?????

wasn't really scoring it properly but 7-5 seemed right. I thought 9-3 was a bit too wide.
spot on.burns won handily.he paid him enough respect as katsidis always demands, , but in the end the judges cards, unusually, were accurate.ALI wrote:Interesting how many people on here that think Katsidis was good enough for a draw, or only lost by a round or two. Thats pretty shocking scoring, but not surprising to me, especially from the likes of Hagler who'd struggle to pick his own nose. Give the man his due, he wiped his arse with your 1k last night![]()
Katsidis won a few rounds, but only because Burns allowed him to. Burns knew he had his number from very early on and knew he could take breathers here and there. He was a very comfortable winner and anyone who had this a draw, a split, or only by a point to Burns needs their heads looked at.
Me too.Emmseegee wrote:Burns 116-112 for me.
doesn't he just.King Geedorah wrote:Delivers his right strangely these days.
I noticed that as well, at first I thought he might be trying to follow through with the elbow but whatever it was it must have affected his leverage on the shot?Counter-puncher wrote:doesn't he just.King Geedorah wrote:Delivers his right strangely these days.
117-111 looked fine to me, maybe 116-112 on replay, Katsidis missed loads.

Newport Daz wrote:8-4 Burns. Wasn't close at all. Most of Kats punches were to Burns gloves and arms. Burns landed the most telling shots throughout. Katsidis hasn't said anything about it being a close fight, only that he struggled greatly to make weight which affected his performance. He'll be going to 140 for good I would have thought now.
King Geedorah wrote:That's how I saw it. Ricky gave a few breathers up but even then he wasn't shipping huge punishment. At one point Katsidis blazed for 2- seconds or so and barely a single shot landed, Burns then clipped him with the left and moved away from the ropes. Right uppercut was also a solid shot for Burns.ALI wrote:Interesting how many people on here that think Katsidis was good enough for a draw, or only lost by a round or two. Burns took a lot of stick between Martinez and this, I believe pre-fight that he would do it on points due to his style but he kept his head commendably and his attitude, works hard and is not a big time Charlie, may be the key to him pulling out Ws like this when written off by many.
Obviously a lot of respect to Billy Nelson, he took Ricky on when many felt the boxer wasn't going far and has done well by him. Two title wins at two weights, the belts picked up against solid opposition, Billy must be laughing into his Irn Bru.

Exactly what I was thinking throughout the fight - he was bending elbow all weird.King Geedorah wrote:Had it 118-110 from ringside, Katsidis missed a staggering amount of shots along the ropes and was pasted at range. Felt he huffed and puffed to win some rounds so could see why they'd be given to him but he missed a crazy amount of shots. No complaints from him afterward, he was a class act.
A group of people a few rounds behind cried 'robbery' at the end, couldn't see it myself and the Australian writer beside me had Burns a handy winner also.
Anyone know if Mike's had any right elbow problems? Delivers his right strangely these days.
Its nothing new, he's done that for some time. From certain angles it actually appears like he's trying to land an elbow. Perhaps its due to an uinjury that he picked up at some point during his career, i've no idea. Really does look wierd the way he throws it.dbf wrote:Exactly what I was thinking throughout the fight - he was bending elbow all weird.King Geedorah wrote:Had it 118-110 from ringside, Katsidis missed a staggering amount of shots along the ropes and was pasted at range.
