Even said he would fight Marquez to even it up.....then after the decision seemed to remember he was team Pac and said it was tight, that one guy one a round then the other guy the next etc

During the fight he said manny was not getting off, was lunging, was missing, was being caught, outboxed, single shotting etc

Then he realised he has to tow the team line that is bound to be that Manny deserved it! Even Roach could not say that with conviction after and Manny was booed during his interview with Kellerman
If I was on Team Khan I'd now look to make the Marquez match in a heart-beat. Amir would be too fast for him IMO and would win a clear points decision boxing on the outside. Perfect way to raise his profile even further Stateside and position him for a big money showdown with Floyd.

I watched it pissed-up with a few mates and thought Marquez won decisively, but if you asked my score it would probably be about 115-113....so a close fight in that respect. Think we should watch it again, sober...

There was nothing wrong with the fury stoppage i watched it again this morning that fella would have been on the canvas again from the next shot and he hadnt recovered from the 1st kd.

It was boarderline but there is no compairing it to the decision, we have to remember the ref is in there to look after the fighters and if he sees something in one of their eyes that says he's goinng down he has no choice.

I watched both HBO and Primetime broadcasts.

Lederman, Lampley and especially Manny Steward were riding Manny's cock all the way through.

Primetime summed it up when they told Andy Kerr they were struggling to put a 'highlight reel' together for the Filipino, yet had plenty of lead right's landing for Marquez to show.

Jinky sobbing, Team panicking, Manny Praying.... as Marquez raises his fist to the jubilant crowd said it all.

Disagree. That scenario could have played out, but it was by no means a foregone conclusion. Pavlik looked far worse in the Taylor fight, for example, yet came back to secure the stoppage.

I thought PacMan won a razor thin decision in a boring fight.
I so wanted Marquez to win this one.

I think a lot of people scored rounds for Marquez because he was nullifying Manny, but he wasn't actually landing himself a lot of the time. Manny on some rounds was the only one coming forward, Marquez wasn't landing much at all in certain rounds but the commentary were going wild for him even if he landed on gloves.

For me it's a case of 'underdog syndrome', everyone wanting the underdog to win so much, that when he actually fought well and made it close, everyone reckons the underdog won it. Just my view of course!

I definitely don't see a robbery here, just a close decision where the champ got it and Marquez didn't really do ebough to rip it away.

I had Pacquiao winning by a round. Can see it the other way, but felt Pacquiao was just busy enough, especially in the second half of the fight.

Because of his 176 punches landed, Primetime couldn't find five?

3 guys in a room comparing scorecards 4,000 miles from the fight listening to a guy who is on top of his table cheering on Marquez and they claim they are the definitive voice of the sport.

Had JMM winning on first watch through a stream with Primetime commentary, had Manny winning on 2nd viewing which I d/loaded (better quality than the stream) with HBO commentary. Although I disagree with Lederman's card, and I don't think HBO were riding Manny's dick at all, I still had him winning by 1 or 2 rounds.

Gonna watch it again later with no commentary,

No, but there are external factors that can lead to an unwitting bias. This happens in many walks of life, not just boxing.
Agreed but on the evidence of the scorecards that isn't pertinent to this fight. The judges are largely agreed in the first half but then diverge wildly in the second, to the point where it's impossible to say they were scoring with the same bias. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact.

Can't really call it a fix or robbery. Seems Primetime favoured JMM and hbo pacman. Just shows how boxing is down to interpretation. Altho mp was well ahead in the punch stats I thought jmm landed the cleaner punches. Had jmm by 2 rounds myself.

Terrible decision, Marquez dictated the pace and landed the cleaner more effective shots. Pacquiao couldn't get his combo's off and didn't get his angles working. Terrible I had it 116-112!!

True, Macho, but there's also incompetence in every walk of life and most of boxing's problems are down to poor officials rather than biased or corrupt ones in my opinion.
I think poor officiating is an additional problem but bias (and I know I'm harping on about this now) definitely plays a significant part. I will reiterate that I think almost all of the bias is unwitting.
I'm sure that entering a fight, the judges - like the rest of us - will have an idea in their heads about who they expect to win. The bigger the fight, the more likely it is they will have such opinions. What can happen, I think, is that they will view rounds from the perspective of expecting 'the winner' to do well and end up giving him credit for his efforts when perhaps the other fighter has done more, as if they are viewing 'the winner''s efforts as part of his inevitable march to eventual victory and 'the loser' can't win! I don't know if I've explained myself very well here but I know what I mean, I'm sure I've done it myself at times.

You read some cards and swear that a judge gas mentally totted up the card, realised it is wide or lost their nerve and then tried to give rounds the other way to make amends.
That aside they're paid and wined and dined by the promoter. If they don't see things his way, maybe they don't get work again, the promoter can easily offer bribes and only pick judges known to take them

That isn't the way to be fair and impartial

I struggled to give more than a couple of rounds to Pacquiao. Boxing is so fake I'm seriously considering switching to wwe.
BTW Nobody should ever let Khan anywhere near a microphone ever again.
