Sorry, but I have to disagree with you on a number of counts. To use a direct comparison with football, if it was like boxing there would be about seven different versions of the Premiership and Champions League, the likes of Man Utd would never play away from home and would hardly ever face Barcelona, Chelsea etc, but would instead dine out on games against Wigan. It would also be virtually impossible for a team to win an away game due to dodgy decisions.
The reference to events off the pitch is borderline irrelevant as people aren't on this thread complaining about the behaviour of certain fighters in their personal lives dragging the sport down, they're pointing to the clear abuses within the framework of the sport.
The insinuation that boxing fans are somehow more inclined to moan more than hardcore fans of other sports just doesn't stand up to scrutiny either.

I have not become disillusioned with the sport, as, just like a lot have mentioned, dodgy decisions etc have been going on forever, but it does seem that of late there is something to complain about almost every week! And it seems mainly in the UK! Just seems that the JMM v MP decision has been the final straw really. It's crazy that in Pacman's next fight he will be introduced to the ring as the best P4P fighter in the world, when nearly anyone who watched the fight Saturday believes he lost!

It is totally unfair (and JMM is my favourite fighter), but while it is so bad for boxing that MP got the decision on the weekend, it would be even worse if it scuppered a MP v FM fight. And nobody wants to see JMM v FM again! That's why it was so important that Pacman got the W, and it is ridiculous that I can even say all this, but that's just how corrupt boxing is. Decisions at the end don't take away from the action beforehand, but it definitely kills the buzz when it is so unjust!

The only way to ever sort boxing out, is to have one global governing body, and then smaller ones for each country, like FIFA and the FA, and have correct and fair ranking systems along with officials who get the big gigs because they have done a good job, not cause they've helped out a promoter in the past. Simple as that.
