Ahhh so kind of like a runner? Where do the gloves come from for fighters are these people specially contracted to do this?

Sorry I'm bad at maths - so for say a non TV York Hall type show (like Miranda Carter puts on) with say 8 fights; what is teh total cost?

This is my first post on the British site I usually post on the Australian one. This is a very good topic, It seems selling tickets is a happening thing for a pro boxer over your part of the world, it's a mayor requirement in Australia, some promotors even pay you in tickets, so No tickets sold no money for the fighter. I've fought pro in Australia & I've also promoted together with my brother iver him or I have been the main event on the shows we have done, both of us have fought & been the only people on the bill who haven't got any money for our fights. It's a tough game you have to really love it, it seems the cost of doing a small hall show over there are around about the same as here in oz, but there's one thing you can do here, which I don't think you can do there & that's have a amutears & pros fight on the same card Pro Am cards they call them, without Pro Am cards in Australia there would no small hall shows.

i think its been recently changed so that you can do a pro am show here now

Small Hall shows get more expensive when u start bringing foreign fighters over, there purses are normally higher and you also have to pay a £50 foreign trainer fee. The board love bleeding promoters dry.
Also television shows at York Hall get charged more than a non-televised show

Gloves etc most promoters will have a stock of, if you ask nicely the Ring guys normally carry a bag of them as well. You pay them in beer for the use of them lol.
All the BBBoC costs for officials are in your wee green handbook.

I don't know how much sanctioning fees are although don't forget the cost of security which is another 2k and then £600 for the ring to be put up.

Good point. The fighters would be better off Promoting themselves and cut out the Promoters and managers fees.
how is it ridiculous?.. promoters should promote, name me another sport where the sportsman sells his own tickets!!

I have this years Green Book (not the Libyan version) because I am applying for a BBBoC seconds licence as well.
I was going to go up to Belfast near the Christmas and speak to Alio and get some of his lads on the show as well. If McCloskey doesnt announce a show for February by New Years Eve then I am going to launch.
