Don't do that, I was going off of memory, took off work at noon and have been drinking since then.

But I'm pretty positive about Bivins, Charles, Marshall & Moore.

Burley, Chase, Holman Williams & Cocoa Kid should be one too.

Cocoa beat Holman 7 or 8 times, that's why his induction was long overdue. Williams in in my all time top 40 or 50. Beat him that many times and you're HOF.

yes holman williams is one of my favorites ever. great legendary boxer. i just worry about doin a top 10 these days. after that it gets too hard and too interchangeable
I did a top 100 about four years ago, but more film has surfaced and i've read much more since then. I think I had holman in the early 30's. Then again I had Langford 6th and he might be my #1 now.

I remember having a discussion with a buddy of mine recently about how Shane Mosley vs Tito is one of the great what-if's that could've and should've happened.

How about a good three way rivalry would be Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Steve Collins. I nearly threw in Michael Watson into the mix but Watson only fought Eubank and Benn. Also you could have Roy Jones, Antonio Tarver, Glencoffe Johnson and Montell Griffin and an outsider on this one Clinton Woods for a five way.

This should include 3-way rivalries as well, 4 with the criteria listed makes it a little tough.

Greb-Walker-Loughran-McTigue

Also with Loughran showing what a resume that man had
Loughran-Baer-Braddock-Schaaf

Also one of the greatest of all time Corbett-Fitzimmons-Jefferies-Sharkey

Those are some good ones.

How about this one:Gene Tunney-Georges Carpentier-Tommy Gibbons-Battling Levinsky?

Another one that I recently thought of is Harold Johnson-Archie Moore-Jimmy Bivins-Ezzard Charles. That has to be right up there.

Another that is almost as good would be if you subsituted Joey Maxim for Harold Johnson. (It isn't a 5-way because Johnson and Maxim never fought.)

Muhammad Ali v. Joe Frazier v. George Foreman v. Ken Norton (1970s Golden Age Heavyweights)

Sam Langford v. Harry Wills v. Joe Jeannette v. Sam McVea (Colored Heavyweight Champions)

Riddick Bowe v. Evander Holyfield v. Mike Tyson v. Lennox Lewis (1990s Golden Age Heavyweight Greats)

The problem with Riddick Bowe v. Evander Holyfield v. Mike Tyson v. Lennox Lewis is that it is a case of what could have been, not what happned.
Bowe never fought tyson or Lewis at all.
Lewis fought Tyosn and Holyfield when they were way past it and most people don't put much stock in those fights.

As for Muhammad Ali v. Joe Frazier v. George Foreman v. Ken Norton, they had some great performances but Norton never fought Frazier.

Sam Langford v. Harry Wills v. Joe Jeannette v. Sam McVea - Multiple fights. That was awesome too bad only the Colored title was ever on the line.

I was just thinking of the top round robin rivalries of 3 or 4 who have all faced each other and who each have atleast one win against their rivals which led me to find this thread. It was Norton who made me first think of it and I think Norton is arguably the Benitez of that group. He meets most of the criteria but not all of it. The trios could easily be Ali/Foreman/Norton or Duran/Hearns/Leonard/Benitez instead of or in addition to the typical ones as a separate trio/quad.

Was going to jump-in with Benn, Eubank, Collins and Watson.
But it does not work as a true 4-way, tragically because Mike Watson got so badly hurt.

That really was a time, Mike starting off the whole gig by schooling Benn in a seriously feisty fight and ending with Collins going 4-0 against Eubank and Benn.

I am hoping Mike is being well-looked after, has money in the bank. He deserves it :salut:

I’ve heard of this pairing before, but with Rolando Navarrete(who also fought Argüello) instead of Mr. Explosivo, since he fought both Boza and Limón in brutal fights.

Far from the best, but a fun 4 way that took place on the European heavuweight scene in the late 70's early 80's.
Alfredo Evangalista-Lorenzo Zanon-Felipe Rodriguez-Lucien Rodriguez
They all fought and for the most part split wins-loses and draws.

The late 50s to mid 60s lightweight division was electric with so many contenders meeting one another. Without going to the database I can think of a 4-way Brown-Ortiz-Charnley-Lane rivalry but I’ll bet there could be more if one delved into it. But if I did wish to go one better I always thought of the 6-way rivalry between Napoles-Lewis-Lopez-Muniz-Soriano-Pruitt. Even more mind-boggling was if Napoles ever met Oscar Albarado there would have been a 7-way rivalry there.

Benitez did beat Duran, so he really belongs with Duran, Hearns, and Leonard. He was also competitive with Hearns and Leonard, though of course he lost. That was a great 4-way rivalry.

Btw, I agree totally with what Ambling Alp wrote and think it was a great idea for a topic!
