this fight does barely either by the looks of it.
why would kali want a war? he wants to beat the guy without getting banged up himself. if it were vs a klit, then it would be worth going through hell to win. but not vs this guy.
he needs to do interviews and call out these other contenders or the klits. cause it seems everybody else is getting a title shot, or a good meaningful fight vs a ranked fighter.
he did get a fight vs a contender, remember, with chagaev. I think the ship has sailed for Kali. Nice guy and decent fighter but the only reason he'd get a fight with either klitschko is because soon there will be no one else left. I dont think it would be pretty either
Kali went closer than that in 2004 when he fought Lamont Brewster for the WBO title. He was 114-113 113-114 113-115. If the second judge had gone for Meehan in one more round he would have been champ. Meehan knocked Brewster down in the 8th round and broke his jaw.
that was a good scrap, i thought Kali won it. Havent watched it in ages might have to get on youtube

Comparing Vitali to Meehan is silly
And my point should be obvious...he's old...he's inactive...he's not at the top of the tree of HW's and hasn't been anywhere near it for years

Don't sweat it. The IBF is the same body that sanctioned Shane Cameron v Bob Mirovic for its
African title.

Kali needs fights, full stop. It's for the IBF Pan-Pac title, meaning it should improve his ranking and I'm sure it'll be a better pay day for Kali then sitting around doing zilch. As for wanting a war, by that I meant if he's going to just stand toe to toe and be lazy, he's going to have someone in front of him that will bang with him.
Doing interviews and not fighting isn't going to do shit for him.

The Manswell fight will make five fights in less than two years. How active do you want him to be?

You can look at it that way, or that he's had 3 rounds in the past 18 months. That's hardly setting the world alight at age 41. Regardless, Manswell is a step in the right direction for mine.

Why has Adama been removed from the schedule?

A step backwards? Is it his fault he has been matched with people who can't take a punch?

Considering Macklin is getting a shot at Martinez after being beaten by Sturm, anything can happen in middleweights.
If Adama decides to drop out, the IBF No 2 Middleweight contender is Sam Soliman.

He can beat the Valeri Semiskur's of this world for the rest of his life, but it won't put him any closer to landing a meaningful fight. At least Manswell has been world ranked, fought for an eliminator etc. Best of luck to Meehan, I hope every fight from here on in is a good'un.

From memory he only fought Semiskur because the bloke he was supposed to fight chickened out, as many have done before.
When was Manswell "World Rated" anyway? When he beat Corey Sanders "T-Rex" was blind in one eye, had lost his last four fights and was a punching bag for a washed up Mike Tyson in exhibitions.

I don't recall anyone pulling out on Meehan for that fight, more an opportunity at short notice. I presume Manswell was rated by the WBC when he fought Stiverne in the eliminator.

What eliminator? He fought Stiverne for the two WBC Regional titles and the WBA "Fedelatin" title.
You do not have to be World Rated to fight for those kind of titles.

My apologies, I was thinking of Stiverne's eliminator with Ray Austin. Manswell apparently was ranked with the WBC. Regardless, his fight is a step in the right direction for Meehan. I've been told by a few who witnessed them spar at King's camp that it got pretty tasty.

That was for the WBC "Silver" belt, their version of Anthony Mundine's "Interim" WBA belt.
The WBC have a Diamond belt, a regular belt and a silver belt. Every child gets a prize.

Mundines belt is actually the interim,Interim belt, this is the best way to break it down.
Champion = Cotto
WBA regular or interim = Trout
WBA interim to WBA Regular = Mundine.
He's not a champion, he hasn't won a belt at Lt Middle and he still hasn't achieved descending downin weight.
He has an opportunity to fight Geale again for a legitimate world title, but he will never go down that road again.

it's so ridiculous and confusing

Why doesn't he simply fight Geale in a ruinification of the belts

i just saw it on the scene. Didnt actually read the article. Though i think its safe to assume sturm wont be traveling down under

depends on the cash i guess. I've heard sturm has looked pretty flat in his last two outings but he'll always get the benefit of the doubt in the close ones. Geale is not the biggest puncher in the world either so it would more than likley go to the cards
