Yeah, i think Johnny would have stopped him aswell as i feel Enzo was slightly over-rated at the time. I would have loved to have seen Johnny fight Haye at cruiserweight and that fight could have come off, because Haye only moved up to heavyweight after demolishing Maccranelli. I think Johnny would have been a very tough fight for Haye, who would have struggled to land his big telegrpahed shots, particularly his favourite left - right combination.twenty six wrote:Too true.
That injury Johnny suffered was horrific.
His kneecap was facing inwards.
We'll never know now, but I truly believe Johnny would have stopped him.

I remember Mac was very undeserving of a shot, but claimed at the time that he was. I remember the interview after he beat Rich LaMontagne (who?) he said he felt he was ready when in reality he hadn't fought anybody to suggest he warranted a shot at a World title. I quite like Enzo now and hope he can have some success at light-heavy but at the time he really was feasting on stiffs.Quixall wrote:Yeah, i think Johnny would have stopped him aswell as i feel Enzo was slightly over-rated at the time. He went on to fight Mark Hobson instead of Nelson I remember too, and I remember having 20quid on Hobson and it being a really close fight and also Hobson having Mac going for a little while before getting floored. Obviously it's been years since I'v seen the fight now but I remember thinking at the time that if he hadn't got caught by that shot it might have been different (looking at the scorecards it could well have been the difference.) But yeah I think we can agree Nelson would probably have beaten Mac at that point in his career.
