Ignore Cleverly being a world champion, it counts for peanuts in terms of measuring a fighters standing in true 'world class'. Cleverly has shown weakness' that need resolving in his last three fights, namely sorting out his defence (or using it), establishing his jab as a way to control his opposition and riding shots when fighting inside. I'm not having a go at him here, if anything I believe that he has yet to reach his ceiling, but he needs to reassess a little.

Brook on the other hand has won every single round in his last three fights and hardly moved out of third gear. I understand that the last opponent was just a chance to fight in the US but given his level of dominance so far he must be served with better tests prior to being thrown in with the Ortiz and Berto type guys.

Hatton will, mark my words, ask nothing of Brook. He's improved in the last three years but closer inspection of his record shows all his opposition to be either well past it (Tackie, N'dou, Branco) or guys who have never had a significant win on their records (Nuzhnenko, Belge, Abramenka). Take a closer look at Nuzhnenko's padded record, he's beaten no one of any note. Watch his fight with Senchenko. Is that world title level stuff?

Hatton best performace was Alvarez and yes it is well known Alverez tried to make weight and couldn't, plus Alvarez is being matched safely as hell, we don't know how good he really is yet. Hatton showed huge balls in that fight but almost nothing else. He won't win more than two rounds vs Brook

It's an "OK" fight, but it would have been better for this to have happened before Kell went stateside (or even have been his Stateside debut?). But this NEEDS to be his final fight before he either faces a fellow top prospect (Kamegai, Solomon, Omotoso, Jones) or a proven world level fighter Ortiz, Berto, Zaveck).

But that isn't acceptable imo. He is being billed as Britain's only World Champion. That's why it's on SSN when he has a new opponent announced. Sure he is nowhere close to being the finished article but he isn't being sold to us as a fairly novice pro who still has a lot to learn.

In all honesty Cleverly winds me up due to his comfortable route to every title win he has. To see other boxing have to slog there guts out for opportunities, Cleverly has riden a wave of vacant titles against poor challengers and it leaves a bad taste.

I understand Hatton for Brook moneywise and the extra recognision it will bring. I understand Karpency for Cleverly as it keeps his title nice and safe.

Hopefully this will be Kel's last fight at this level before moving on to proper world class. I believe it will

Jennings beat Jackewicz already anyway, admittedly earlier but would probably do so again.

That was a long time ago. Jennings went down the WBU route of shit nver knew how good he was!

Hatton is much improved and it could be a very entertaining scrap.Also, with the Hatton name, it should ensure that this fight hits the national papers.A good fight and I hope it gets made.
