That is a cultural rather than religious thing. Haroon may be a muslim but he is not from a muslim country. So what bearing does it have what they do in Asia or the middle east when Haroon and Amir were brought up in the UK.

Young men with high testosterone levels (which is basically all top level male atheletes) take risks, it's a feature of being young, and high testosterone. The link is well proven.
Go to the area of Bolton they are from and you'll see first hand that the ingrained cultural driving ineptitude persists. You'll also see precisely why it persists. Had they been brought up in an area that had considerably less Asian cultural influence, I would be more inclined to put the Khan's mishaps down to simple 'boy racing'.

Out of interest, do you drive?

No, your point is?

Macho there are numerous places within the UK that have boy racers that are Black,Asian,White etc.

Just a few local towns you can see white Chavs in their "Kitted up" Saxo's blasting their base. It's hardly anything new. It's always been the case, and possibly always will.

As for other countries. From my own personal experience, i have found motoring to be more frenzied in any country outside the UK. Mainly because they don't anything anywhere near the nanny-esque rule book in the UK.

Young, old and anywhere in between appears to make no difference, they put their toe down and go for it. If you ask them what the eff they are playing at and if they care that they might kill themselves, or somebody else, they just say smile and say "Inshallah". That's fact, mate.
Speaking from my own experience in the UK. I have seen pretty much every group of people (Whites, Blacks, Asians) involved in the same stuff.

Some work hard, others are lazy, some prefer eating out, some prefer joy riding. Their colour or background is pretty much irrelevant.

The only correlation or similarities is how much disposable cash they have to spend.

Have you ever driven in Russia or Latvia mate?

At the risk of inflaming the argument further, there is a degree of truth in this and it's not diametrically opposed to the points made by others such as James. If you are a young male that testosterone 'impulse' can find its outlet in a number of different channels. If certain 'channels' are blocked to you due to religious reasons ergo it follows that a higher proportion of individuals in that circumstance will end up in one of few channels open to them. For example, if you're a young Muslim male on a Saturday night and you're not going to go out clubbing and drinking, and you've got more disposable income due to living at home with parents still (and not blowing it on booze and drugs), having 'fun' in your own car is going to be an attractive proposition for many as a release and form of escapism/freedom.
I appreciate it's not exactly identical, but many of the young devout Muslim guys in Dubai just live for the weekend when they can go cruising along certain beachfront areas of Dubai in their motors and some are guilty of doing the craziest things such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh1btTyoSwQ
I guess what I'm trying to say is that crazy driving can be an issue among all youth in the UK, regardless of religion, colour etc, but it's perfectly plausible to think that a higher percentage of some communities will be involved than others simply because they are fairly restricted in terms of what avenues are open to them for that testosterone release.

. No, no-one has been charged so the case is not in court.

Beat me to it. It's only a contempt issue when any case becomes 'active' - I think that's when an arrest has been made but it might be a charge...Mr Foster will know...he wasn't arrested, was he?

Russia yes, Latvia no.
The worst driving I have ever seen was in Russia and to an extent Latvia. Utterly crazy however I havent really been in Mid-east so cant say, well except Morroco and it was tame there compared with Moscow.
