Kevin Pressman to you sooty !

Joking aside how many do you think they'll sell, Mick? If they sell 5k in TOTAL they'll have done well.twenty six wrote:Kevin Pressman to you sooty !![]()
The problem is taking Eddie's words on face value. Every promoter bends the truth if not outright lie in the name of hype but for a journalist to act as if its a fact without checking with venue is slack. At the very least he should say "Hearn claims...." or "Hearn says....", to go with a headline "Brook-Hatton shifts 5k..." when anyone who has worked in boxing will tell you this is very unlikely to be the case lessens credibility. It's hardly as if this is Haye-Maccarinelli.twenty six wrote:Leforge,

I've been reliably informed that sales are nearer 2k than 5k.
Even 2k is doing ok but why make out different ?
Can you also provide Xanax online without a prescription?bigB wrote:Tickets are going like hotcakes, I know the 350 inner ring VIP tickets are pretty much completely gone and there were going crazy at box office at 2pm after presser.
I think they will do the 9000 they set out to do originally, this is without the undercard been fully announced.
Darren Barker
Adnan Amar vs Lee Purdy
Kid Galahad
And more
Kell is getting more & more support & I think will go on to bigger & better it's no1 vs no2 in UK after all in the Welterweight division, I have Kell to win within 8.
If you want tickets too call Matchroom or Box Office
If they sell 9000 tickets or whatever for this, then its the right fight for all concerned.Ben Carey wrote:Hi Dave,DavidPayne wrote:I disagree Ben. This is a perfectly sensible fight for Brook. I concede he needs a Randall Bailey next or even a Zab Judah, may be a step and half. But Hatton is a known commodity home and abroad, sells tickets in this context and cleans up domestic business for Brook.
And Hatton wont fall over.
Brook is heavy favourite but Hatton will bring everything he has.
Happy New Year. A Randall Bailey type is exactly the calibre of test that I’m looking for Brook to have. Would it sell out Sheffield Area? Probably not, so I do take your point to an extent.
However, I find Brook-Hatton sooooo uninspiring. Matthew is tough and he won’t fold but it’s difficult to envision him winning more than 3 rounds. This fight SHOULD have happened 2 years ago and is now a British title fight masquerading as some form of launch pad ahead of Brook taking on the world. Wasn’t this supposed to be the purpose of Brook’s last 3 fights?
Maybe I’m impatient but Brook’s not going to get any better by beating Matthew Hatton. What’s the overall aim here? To sell mutton dressed as lamb to the Sheffield public or to ensure Brook is ready to mix it in world class waters instead of treading water?

That will have to do for now.
You're spot on, the wording should have been different. Checking with the venue wouldn't have helped on this occasion though because Matchroom are selling them too and probably have a big allocation from the Arena.Sid-the-hat wrote:The problem is taking Eddie's words on face value. It was a losing effort but he didn't look close to getting stopped against Alvarez and he will do something that the vast majority of Brook's opponents to date haven't done, (i.e), throw punches.
A fine example can be found in "Open All Hours" series 3, episode 2. Where Arkwright, in an attempt to shift a massive backlog of Jamaican Ginger Cake that nobody wants, puts a sign up at the counter informing shoppers "Due to unpredicted demand, customers are limited to 1 Jamaican Ginger Cake per visit"MachoMan09 wrote:That sounds a little bit more realistic.twenty six wrote:I am now informed its 2000 tickets out, not necessarily sold.
Hearn is simply trying to replicate the Harry Potter phenomenon, albeit on a much smaller scale. Get it into the press that you are struggling to print enough books/tickets to satisfy demand and people start thinking they are missing out on something and want a part of it.
It was Hatton-Maussa mate, and it was a struggle to sell it out. I remember being asked to conduct an interview with Prince Naseem about rumours of his 'impending comeback' and how he'd be ringside for the fight to try and create some extra buzz. It was pre-arranged and we gave the exclusive to the Sheffield Star with an imaginative headline. Having spoke to Hamed, I never really got the impression that he was serious and so it proved, but whether it helped to flog a few more tickets I don't know.twenty six wrote:Ben,
Sorry mate was ignoring you.
Can you recall when the better of the Hatton brothers fought in Sheffield ?
That should have been a breeze to sell - but it wasn't.
Back then I think a few of us had a bit more coinage to spend as well.
If this event creates an audience of 5k then I would applaud the Promotor.
Why make out the silly numbers is beyond me.
I think that there are a number of purist boxing fans from this area having to decide between the 17th and the 24th because money is so tight.

Don't know where that info is from mate, but it's not right!twenty six wrote:I am now informed its 2000 tickets out, not necessarily sold.
Let me make it clear. I am a staunch Brook fan. Wouldn't miss this for the world, but there has to be some realism here.
If this event draws 5k then I think everyone ought to be doing hoop las.
He told the indefatigable Terry D that they'd sold 1000 in the first hour. If that's true, I'm sure they sold a few more over the next few days. I suppose we'll find out on March 17th how many have gone.h smithy wrote:Hearn is now really starting to get on my nerves, if this is true that only around 1000 tickets have been actually sold and 4000 are out with the boxers and at other box offices why is he going round saying that 5000 tickets have been sold.
