Yes I can see it quicker than that. There will be a riot. I imagine the fight sells well in Liverpool. Price is a class act in and out of the ring.

A fit and focused Fury wins this, no doubt.

Despite us fans always complaining that fights like this don't get made often enough, I honestly think they would be better off waiting. The way the heavyweight division is, and with the klitschkos potentially on their way out in the next year or so, both of them are good enough to pick up world titles and then this fight would be worth millions

Will the EBU make him vacant it if he is going to be out for six months or will they let him keep it until he recovers from the operation? As for David Price v Tyson Fury I hope it does happen because it will be one hell of fight if it does get made and you can make strong arguments for both men which means betting and predicting on it is going to be an utter nightmare. I think Fury has the quicker hands and switches between the head and body quite well, while Price has got the power and does not waste his shots in comparison to Fury although people still question his chin so there would be alot of questions that will get made but it could be an utter barn burner of a fight with plenty of knockdowns and potentially a shocking split decision that might give Frank Maloney another heart attack before he presses for a rematch.

I appreciate where you're coming from, but both guys are young and fresh enough to come again should one be defeated. Like with DeGale Groves, this match can be made now and again in a couple of years time for a world strap.
We'll see whether Fury really wants this fight. He's been gobbing off since he turned pro about no one wanting to fight him, mainly because he's offered his opponents pittance with 5 minutes notice. Now he has a genuine, live opponent who is his mandatory, ready to fight him.
He'll certainly lose respect if he runs away.

yeah hes vacated or about to dimitrenko v boystov have been put forward, i aree with you that the fight will be alot more competitve than people are making out i just think that fury will start out boxing with his brain but will end up fighting with his heart which will be his downfall

Why would Wlad look to quit any time soon? Coming off one of his best wins, earning loads, looking as good as he ever has and nobody out there can beat him or even come close to it.
Be mad to retire. He could reign for the next 5 years if he wanted to.

Would love to see this fight, but carnt see it happening (yet) for some reason.
Who should they both fight if they don't fight each other?
I just hope frank Maloney keeps price active this year, it seems like an age between each one of his last fights

Price is really getting hyped up far too much on here just because he beat McDermott easily.

Someone asked why people are worried about his chin. The amateur stoppage defeats was the answer.
Seems fair enough to bring it up to me!
He is looking good and he can stop Fury, of that I'm sure. People are worried his chin might not hold up against bangers, which, again, seems like a fair point at the moment.

Price wins no questions, he's fitter and has way more power than Fury.
As Fury can't KO people clean, Price's "suspect chin" shouldn't be of any concern.
I reckon Hennessy will win the purse bids, he'll pull out all the stops after Maloney beat him to the purse bids for the first Fury-McDermott fight.

Butler is no mug either.
Price is in a different class to Fury.

Can only see a Price stoppage to be honest. I think a guy who fronts up to Fury sizewise with a good skill set will always beat him as his reach advantage will be negated. Early stoppage too, smaller guys have hurt him so i wouldn't be suprised if Price knocked him clean out.
Would be a great fight and i'd really hope that channel 5 shows it as it would be good for boxing

Butler lost to Pajkic, so I don't think he can be considered to be a big win.
Fury is still far more proven than Price. For people to be talking about Price stopping him early and Fury being a non-puncher who won't be able to hurt Price seems a bit over the top.

I'd back Price every day of the week. Fury's workrate would definitely pose Price a problem he hasn't had before but Price poses plenty of problems Fury won't have had before with his tequnique AND size. One thing I noticed during a stato moment of mine over the weekend. Prices weight has stayed more or less the same throughout his entire career so far. He has had some longish periods out the ring but his career heavyest and lightest differ by only 4lbs which for a guy his size indicates to me he is nearly always coming in really good shape. I'd say Price v Fury is a more eagerly awaited fight domestically at heavyweight than I can remember in the 12 or do years iv been watching boxing seriously.

i'd agree that a fit and focussed fury would be an enormous challenge for anyone in the division, and may have enough to beat price
my concern is that we wont always see a fit and focused fury.
he came out of the ring after he was last rocked and was quite confident that there was no problem with walking into the ring at the highest level and taking 2 rounds to get his a**e in gear. his head isn't in the right place IMO and i don't believe that guys at the higher level, guys with the punch power of david price, will be as forgiving as nevin pajkic was in his last outing, if fury walks into the ring in the same shape he did then and takes 2 rounds to get going price will knock him out cold.

If the fight does happen then clearly Fury would now come into the fight in the best shape of his life.
After Price's impressive win last night , Fury will be going into this fight as the clear underdog now and that will have done him a MASSIVE favour
He seems to positively thrive on those situations where he is unfavoured. Like against Chisora where no one gave him a real chance ... and in his last fight when knocked down he VERY quickly stepped up his game and knocked Pajkic down twice in quick succession.
Chisora was much the same against Fury and underestimated him, but came in superb condition and mentality against Helenius when he was the clear underdog.
Ironically for Price - in terms of the potential fight - winning so well against McDermott has actually DECREASED his chances against Fury
It will be a fight that could go either way, but I think with his 6" reach advantage a Fury in a peak condition that we have so far yet to see stops Price. Just.

I think the line "best shape of his life" is a good one. I think John Mc said he was in the b.s.o.h.l.
Some fighters, particularly heavies seem out of shape whatever they claim to have done. Maybe they train like demons but they must eat like horses too!

Price for me, I just do not rate Tyson Fury at all. I know that Pricey said that Tyson won't duck him as he's a fighting man but I have a feeling his management will want to stay well clear.
As for his chin, as has been mentioned, Wlad was seen as a bit chinny and look at how he's stood up...Amir Khan, blown out in one but done well since.
I wouldn't say that Price's chin is the problem, it's just that we've yet to see him being taken into the trenches or even go into the later rounds. That might be the crucial aspect here.
If they do get it on and it's held in Liverpool, imagine the security they'll need. You can keep your ringside seat, I'll watch it at home thanks!
Having said all that, I would sure love to see this one.

You think it will be bigger than Lewis vs Mason?

I've been a fan of Price ever since he turned pro. Yes, there are chin concerns, but they're not likely to come up against Luke Tyson Fury. IMO, Price would win, no matter whether it's on points or by KO. Fury would train harder than ever before, so he'd make a good go of it. Price is just better, though.
