Mate, think of my reaction this way: how many times have I turned up in a heavyweight thread, explaining to all & sundry that no-one in Japan or Mexico give a shit about Tyson Fury?
Answer: none.
So why go to the trouble of going to a thread between two fighters who weigh about as much as your left leg, with unpronounceable names, fighting for a belt in a faraway place, & then, amongst the people rhapsodising about it, start explaining the painfully obvious reasons why the average Brit/Yank in the street doesn't want to watch said fight? I simply don't understand why anyone would do that, I really don't. I am aware said fighters are deemed unattractive to the general sports public. That's okay. I'm not going to persuade them, & I'm not gonna try. But it comes off like you're in here trying to convince us of... Something. Like I said, I think we all know that this fight wouldn't get good numbers on Channel Five or whatever. No-one's said that. Macho started his impression of someone's bitter grandad, which was meant partly in jest, & I replied humorously in kind by pretending I was actually talking to myself.
I'm not proud of this, but I can tell you what colour shorts Ricardo Lopez wore for every single time he won a belt (true). I like watching fights like this. I don't go talking about Toshiaki Nishioka's counter-punching in (many?) Matt Skelton vs Tom Dallas threads. I created a thread about two little dudes smashing the fvck outta each other. We've had two pages & about six posts about the fight, which was actually epic. I mean, fvcking titanic. I mean, have you watched it? Go on, have a look, it's great. You so could've in the time you've been taking offence. Several times, probably. Please stop trying to tell me about the many reasons why people who don't really like boxing won't watch it. I'm a boxing fan. We're all boxing fans. We know all this already.
Go watch the fvcking fight, mate.
