Ed, you were one of the few people who could make Ray Charles look like John Charles.ed robinson wrote:Thanks for the kind words. David, you're just saying that because when we played football I made you look like Pele! I had three pro fights - all against guys without a win on their record and I still managed to lose one of those...
DMMA - We've been filming Amir since before the Athens Olympics and he's always been very friendly and approachable. I think he stays out of the business side of things anyway. Almost every boxer I've ever met has been a gentleman - which is one of the many reasons that I love my job.
Hey Michael, I never boxed Howard, luckily for me, although we were both at Battersea boxing club in the early 90's. The first time I sparred with him he gave me two black eyes and I looked like a panda for a week. There were some really good guys in the gym, you'd pay to watch Cham Joof and Anthony Campbell spar. If I hit the bag in your gym it would have been to keep warm! Good luck with the comeback, I've got a lot of time for Phil Jeffries, I'm sure it'll be a great show.

Re: Ringside tonight
Hatton and Khan are both very personable.
Two criticisms: 1. why does Lewis find it impossible to give Vitali credit?
2. why does Johnny Nelson wear a shirt two sizes too small for him?

Yes that's fair, but the insinuation is that the division is week and Lewis cannot seem to accept that Vitali deserves credit for his performance against him.Camcas wrote:To be fair he did say hes the best HW in the worldreggaereggae wrote:Hatton and Khan are both very personable.

Also saying Vitali is the best reflects well on Lewis; as Lennox beat him

Ed,
Are there any plans to do a few more docs like the hopkins one that sky did last year or a segment on a topical boxing issue like the one that sky did on watson/ingle/oliver - they were brilliant.
Ringside was excellent last week, i think your contribution from the various gyms around the country is excellent and great news on the goldenboy deal.

Also Ed I criticised you once on here but it was meant for Adam Smith, I don't know why I had your name in my head at the time.
Really enjoy the work your doing and as a fan and ex fighter myself it's great to see someone like you who clearly has a passion for the sport and the Boxers and it's brilliant to see you on ringside.

Great news regarding the GBP promotions deal, well done Adam Smith and team.
Hatton, Khan and Lewis were excellent guests this week.

Thanks for taking the time to reply - an interesting and promising answer too. The press made so much about the supposed acrimony at the time it would have seemed likely for there to be an edge but it's never showed when he's been on/interviewed. Glad to hear things are OK.ed robinson wrote: DMMA - We've been filming Amir since before the Athens Olympics and he's always been very friendly and approachable. BTW - one thing the team might consider, that I reckon would go down really well would be to package together (and add in some of the un-shown footage) of the Jamie Moore gym sessions; really interesting to see different trainers approaches and pushing him and Jamie came over so well. Maybe do a DVD release? If it was hard to get the different trainers' permission possibly put proceeds to a boxing charity as a sweetener?
