Price's best opponent was an overweight McDermott. McDermott is English title level, beating him does not suggest that a fighter is world or even European class.

Price should try to win the British title outright before moving up to European level. If he can beat guys like Sexton, Sprott and Harrison then he will be much more prepared for the next level.

I'm a massive Price fan and think he is the best heavyweight in the uk at the moment and was very disappointed when "chicken" Fury ducked him this week but after reading alot of the articles on him is he and maloney dining out on Fury's name, surely he should forget about fury and move on.

As i said please go easy on me :TU:
Fury has be talking about a Price fight and calling him out for over 3 years now so who dining out who name Fury now will need Price more than we need him. Lets all move on and see who is right

Get him in against Hellenius for the European.

Two big guys, a nice title and exposure. Price could win that fight handily.

As a potential opponent or just a comparison?

Would be a fight I would ove to see to be honest. In terms of how far they are along right now? Perez has done more obviously. People slate Fields but he would beat Big John and it was a very good win for Perez.

Your judging Price solely on his opponenets rather than what you see in front of you.

you cant be serious about audley? And Sprott is a car tire fitter.

The sooner he KO's Sexton and picks up the british title the better, maybe then we can see him work through the levels. As far as "british level" goes, the british scene isn't too bad right now, when you consider Haye & Chisora in title fights & clearly Tyson Fury feels he is beyond british level with his refusal to fight DP.

So effectively, Price is left with the 2nd tier of british heavyweights if you like, bums like A-Farce, which if we are honest we know he is well beyond.

It may well be premature, but the HW scene is so diabolical right now i'd actually throw Price's name in as potential next world champ. By the time he has a few more fights the brothers will be rather aged (especially Vitali). Price is 6ft 8 , but more importantly he is conditioned & can punch. Guys like Fury, Helenius & Chisora are uncoditioned pigs who cant punch. Beyond that here is very few legit heavies, perhaps Arreola & Povetkin. After that, theres some cruisers like Adameck, Mormeck (fighting the brothers) & now Huck who fancies it because the division is so poor.

Is it just me that would like to see him clean up domestically this year. He could easily keep his Lonsdale this year and sign off 2012 by announcing a European shot.

Half the reason there's no decent challengers is cos they get served up to the klits way before they're ready like Haye and Chisora. Haye needed a couple of fights against big guys, Chisora needs about 10 fights.

Do you think that McDermott would beat Harrison or Sprott? I think he would lose to both of them, so they are both a step up for Price.

Well beyond Audley? He has not fought anyone as good as Audley, so how can he be beyond him?

Why is Price fighting Josue Blocus in his next fight?

They couldn't find anyone better?

McDermott has faught a step up from A-farce & Sprott in my opinion, he lost 2 very close fights against Danny Williams & went this distance with Fury first time round.

I'd place McMuffin favourite certainly against Audley, and i reckon he'd outpoint Sprott. So i disgaree with you there, i dont think they would be a step up, i think he'd be very much the same level of the fighter he just blasted out in a round.

Both Harrison and Sprott have fought better opposition than McDermott has and they have both beaten Williams.

Harrison is a former European champion and world title challenger. Sprott is a former British and Commonwealth champion and has challenged for the European title 3 times. They have both fought at a higher level than McDermott and a win over them would be bigger than his win against McDermott.

I think both would beat McDermott, especially if he turns up in the shape he was in for the Price fight.

doesn't quiet tell the whole story - he faught A-Farce twice, won 1 lost 1. He lost to Sprott by a point.

My honest opinion, these 3 guys are very similar in talent levels and Price would make easy work of all 3.

Honest opinion then from you then, Price v Audley & Price v Sprott, how do they go?

And McDermott lost to Williams twice, they were both able to beat Williams and McDermott wasn't.

Price probably wins, but both have more to test Price than anyone he has faced so far. These are good fights for Price to take at this stage of his career.

Price's career has been moving forward at a very slow pace. Now he has reached British title level (where he can finally have fights that actually mean something), I see no reason to suddenly decide that it is time to rush him forward and bypass a few good learning fights.

Sexton , Sprott , Harrison , Welliver , Pajkic , Towers

They are the kind of fighters Price should fight , and beat within his next 3 or 4 fights ,

then onto people along the lines of Leapai , Meehan , Sosnowski , Liakovich , Petkovic , Helenius

Everyone of those can be either British , Commonwealth or European title fights and will keep him ticking over nicely without being Huge costs in my view .

He can then attempt to box fringe world level fighters from then on .

id have no problem him following that route , even if he beat all those mentioned above hed still only be 24-0 , so still reasonably early on in world title terms but ticking along in the right direction , getting a world title shot at that stage wouldnt be unheard of but would mean hes still got room for a couple of sterner tests before taking the title leap .

Ask the event coordinators, but McDermott's true weight was just over 18 stone.

The scales. If you're not willing to believe it you can use your eyes. He was under 19 stone for Olubamiwo and looked in far better condition than he did for that fight.

If the scales said McDermott weighed more than a stone more than he really did, then Price was really lighter than 232 lbs which is by far lighter than he has weighed before as a pro.
