Hey Keith I saw both Page, willis fights and you are right he absoloutley flattened him, it was the same in the first fight.

It is more of a case of what the fighters who Tua became after the defeat rather what they were at the time plus the physical disadvantages in the height and reach department that would in some people's eyes make the victories impressive

Danny Williams and Kevin McBride beating mike Tyson got to be a stand out one. No matter if Tyson was not at is best they can always say they beat iron mike .

agree Leon beating ali is the daddy, in time we may also look back on Khans 'win' over Barrera as a surprisingly good win on his record

Seeing as Marvin Hart is quite often rated as one of the poorer heavyweight champions, his points victory over Jack Johnson must qualify as a 'surprisingly good win'.

Robert Thomas (career 16-57-4) has two split decision wins over Charles Brewer (career 40-11), Brewer was later IBF Super Middleweight champion. At the time of the first fight Thomas was 9-41-3 and Brewer 14-0 and at the time of the second Thomas was 14-41-3 and Brewer 14-1. Immediately before the first Brewer fight Thomas got a draw with Eric Harding on Harding's debut.

Simpkin was better then his record suggested but to be fair I've watched that fight many a time and still don't think he beat me! Was in 2nd gear trying to keep myself for next fight in pf, never mind, boxing eh

I forgot about our own Dave Green coming between Leonard's fights with Benitez and Duran.

I keep wanting to say Fearless Freddie Pendleton, but I think as he could be a genuine world class operator when in the mood/not chemically altered, I think he doesn't quite fit the thread.

& I suppose I should throw in 90s trial horse Ross Puritty, who KO'd Wladdy, stopped Joe Hipp & drew with Tommy Morrison but lost against anyone else with pretentions to world class that he ever faced. Though thinking about it, Jaco was leagues below Puritty, who might've been a big lump but was virtually bullet-proof when he was on.
