At 5'8" he is the same height as Irish American heavyweight Tom Sharkey, who was involved in one of the most notorious fights of the 1890s. Sharkey fought Bob Fitzsimmons in December 1896 in a fight billed for the World Heavyweight Championship. The referee was notorious gunfighter, gambler and brothel keeper Wyatt Earp, of OK Corral fame.
Fitzsimmons knocked Sharkey cold in the eighth round, whereupon Earp disqualified Ruby Bob. When Bob protested, Wyatt pulled a gun on him!
It is widely believed that Earp had gambled heavily on Sharkey winning. In a later fight Fitzsimmons knocked Sharkey out in 2 rounds. There is no other record of Earp refereeing a fight, but he did become a boxing journalist.

I wouldn't read too much into it that he is 0-2. Lost a majority decision to Callan Orchard and only stopped in the 4th to Phil Maley. Both pretty handy fighters there.
Both fights were in the first half of 2010. Could Leigh be a bit rusty?
Yeah he'll be a bit short of a gallop. Only time will tell i suppose.

cheers

Guess that's that then, end of a short lived career. Didn't really think at 41 he was going to make much of an impact anyway.

Looks like TBA will have to find another opponent for the 19th at Rumours.

As soon as I knew Shane was fighting Dane, I said Shane won't be able to fight on Smithy's show. Was always going to happen.

Thanks for the feedback. Hope he wasn't doing it for the money. Because it doesn't appear he's going far in this game at 40 odd years of age.
