It's heartening that Ricky isn't taking on a stiff for his next fight, any of these opponents is an excellent tuneup, the Pinto fight however, could be a bad move I think.
Ricky cannot afford to lose to a guy of Pinto's stature at this stage, I don't think Spadafora will cause him too many problems, Hatton will pyt him into defensive mode, and Spadafora isn't enough of a puncher to halt him in his tracks.

They did show Pinto, but just glimpses of a couple of fights, that you'ld have seen before. Nothing new.MightyWarrior wrote:I missed Ringside - did they show anything of Pinto?
Noticed the Express had a bit on it today, obviously a highly informed boxing writer on their staff: said Pinto was the new star of the light welter division......eh?! Did I miss something?
They did a in-depth thing with Cotto though.
Mostly at home with family, wife, 3 kids, dad, uncle, University.
Seemed like a nice chap. Girly haircut though.
Oh, and you missed a Calzaghe Master-class thing where he showed the viewers how to slap like a bitch.

Mmmmmm interesting N'Dou who took Shamba Mitchell 12 rounds who in turn was taken 12 rounds by Fred Kinuthia...................who was blasted out in a few rounds by........now let me think!!!!!!!!!!!!! Junior Witter?
Puts it all in perspective really dont you think?
Either Witter is shit hot or Shamba Mitchell is Crap
Take your pick

Good point, although I have only seen Mitchell twice in action. In my opnion, he is a little over-rated, I think a similar analogy can be found when you compare his and Hatton's victory over Phillips. Having said that, Mitchell vs Tszyu was in the balance after the 8th round and surely no-one can insinuate Tszyu is over-rated. I believe, Tszyu is slowing up and I think the Mitchell and Urkal fights was evidence of that - but he's still fantastic and Mitchell's performance shows he's not bad. I sort of compare him to a Joppy of his weight devision, a good fighter and good champion - but I do favour Gatti, Judah and Tszyu to beat him - not sure about Harries.theguru wrote:Ever seen Shamba take anyone lightly before?
All my first post was pointing out that your first post Guru was a little simplistic. Perhaps N'dou took that midget lightly (don't blame him) - perhaps he thought "if I look bad, perhaps a champion might face me". Perhaps the midget was ill before the Witter bout, or even styles makes fight. Equally though, and hopefully, you could be bang on.
However, untill Witter fights these guys N'dou or Mitchell, we'll never know. Mitchell is proven, to say he's crap is a little harsh and Witter hasn't beaten anyone to show he's shit hot. It gives us an idea of his power, but thats about it.
In order to lose a bid there has to be a bid in the first place how many times has Frank had to bid for a top fight? prob never.
But then again who would be interested in bidding for the fights of his top fighters? Calzaghe,Nelson,Hatton? of all their opponents who would have even been interested in promoting any of their fights apart form frank. Its not as if they were fighting big name fighters because I can assure you if they were, their own promoters I am sure would have made bids.
