A die hard of 4,000 fans isn't going to grow into a nation of fans when he's just fighting turd after turd.

And that 4k will dwindle fighting everywhere but his own country.

Especially when you watch a former undercard fighter of Cleverly's like Kell Brook blossom with the right promotion, and jam 10,000 people into Sheffield arena.

Paint it however which way you want Casio - the fact is Clev is fighting utter tripe in tiny venues in front of a handful of TV subscribers.
The venue is the major selling point in this fight. It is one of the best in the world. It would be the only reason i would consider going (I am not btw, am going to Froch).

He won a cruiserweight prizefighter sort of thing here last year beating Mohamed Azzaoui (who fought Enzo Mac for WBO Cruiser title) in the semi final. He's still pretty raw but powerful - his last fight was against a bit of a novice Filipo Masoe it's on youtube, finishes it with a cracking right hand. He'd do well in Britain, although the cruiser scene is a bit moody at the moment.

Who the commonwealth champion is it still an Aussie perhaps he can fight them. Then challenge a British crusier.

It's a kiwi Shane Cameron. But Cameron is fighting Monte Barret at Heavy on the 30th May. Not sure if he's vacating the title or not.

Barrett is there for the taking, but Cameron lost to Tua in 2. Is Tua still fighting?

Most of the undercard will be fighters from the Groves card.

Where did i say the die hard 4k are going to grow into a nation of fans??
How many subscribers does Allegedly channel have then, since you say its a handful?
You say its a FACT hes fighting in 'tiny venues'.....his last few fights have been a homecoming sell out, as well as the O2, Echo Arena and the LG Arena.......hardly tiny venues IMO.

Paint it however YOU want pal but it clear that unless it fits in with your Sky/Froch/Matchroom agenda then its deemed wrong.
fornicate off. It's plain as day your an alias.

I stated facts, without getting personal.

The reality is Kell is going from strength to strength, whilst Clev (whom I'm a fan of incidentally) quickly fades into the shadows.

Let's wait and see what earth shattering opponent is named today shall we before resuming our debate ?

We can compare the excitement, respect, interest and sale levels it generated to Froch vs Bute

Fighting at the Albert Hall will give Cleverly a massive profile boost, whoever he fights.

heh, seems even the WBO have rejected the bum of the month club, wanting Cleverly to fight Bum B instead.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/17448826

Not that I actually give a shit, but when the hell has this joke organisation ever enforced anything like this? Calzaghe was able to fight the likes of Tocker Podwill and Miguel Jimenez as he pleased.

Or maybe those guys WERE the mandatories? :o

EDIT: The guy the WBO wants him to fight actually has 7 stoppage wins against decent opposition in his last 7 wins. Thing is, don't see Cleverly vacating his beloved paper title in search of 'bigger things'. But at the same time don't see Frank wanting to take a risk with this guy - that would be displaying confidence in his fighter...allegedly

Yeah I saw that article. Good on the WBO for once insisting on a semi-decent match up.

I thought the talk after the Karpency fight was of Hopkins? What happened to that?

Agreed. Kasniqi is a another terrible opponent especially coming off the back off the last bum they matched him against and it's sad to note that Cleverleys opposition has become weaker these last 2 fights then qaulity boxers like Karo Murat and Tony Bellew.

I simply refuse to accept Cleverley as a world champion boxer!

I'm not even asking for the likes of Hopkins, Dawson, Beibut Shumenov or Cloud but how about some competitive guys like Isaac Chilemba, Eduard Gutknecht, Dmitry Sukhotsky, Gabriel Campillo, Adrian Diaconu and i'd even accept Edison Miranda.

Of cause my man Ismayl Sillakh would spark Cleverley out in 2 rds.

Where the f*ck art thou ye olde Casio ?

Another bum.

To be honest im not interested in winning or losing an argument - i'd much prefer Clev had a decent opponent coming up and we weren't even having this polite debate.

The guy is a decent operator, gives entertainment (against challenges, not journeymen) and is going backwards not forwards in comparison to the other British fighters out there.
