archie was so smart that he knew he'd have to fight for a long time to get any real money from his profession, so..as he has written..when he was still young and mobile he started to develope a style that required less foot movement and more arm defense and offense in preparation for the time when his legs started to go. how many boxers of any era have had that kind of mental aptitude..or attitude....which is just another example of the intelligence he displayed in other aspects of his skill.

Thats a pretty interesting Jaclem. Changing your style because you know that you will be ducked until you are old. I had never heard about that. James Toney has said that he bases his style as a mix of Moore, Charles, and Walcott. He hardly uses his legs in the ring either.
