Ditto , Mcphilbin is a clubber no style just a brawler although give him his due caught Enzo good and proper , feel sorry for him really as if it had carried on then itd almost certainly been stopped.

I have been a fan of Enzo for years now and I dont want to see him carry on any longer and get seriously hurt. A few years back he would have stopped McPhilbin in a couple of rounds but the old magic has now gone. Without the timekeeper Enzo would have lost that fight so its clear he cant cut the mustard any longer and should retire. He still has something to offer to boxing but not as a fighter. I dont think there should be a rematch, Enzo should relinquish the title and McPhilbin should fight someone else for it.

I'll take this opportunity to also say that I'm concerned about the amount of punishment Paul Appleby takes every time he steps through the ropes. He's storing up a whole load of trouble for himself in later years unless he learns how stop a left hook with something than his chin.

Also if u watch the fight he only grabbed the leg when enzo pushed him down like for the suspect knockdown. Everybody on here had shane knockout out b4 he even went in the ring so to go 12 rounds and have two proper knockdowns and a rematch is a top result.

Exactly, he's stepped up a good few levels in his last 3 fights. Rhys Davies for the Midlands to Leon Williams for the British to Enzo Macc. All 3 looked to be a step up so to come out with 2 wins, 2 titles and a rematch due to a controversial loss is something he can hold his head up high about

Sorry but I won't change my mind, I admire him going the distance but he grabbed his legs on several occasions, ( ok I will let that one go as you say Enzo started it ) but he constantly turned around which tells me he wants out, and boxers who are looking for friends in the audience always bug me especially when there loosing, it's a showboating trick. And everyone says Enzo is washed up but when he wins the same people shout about how good he is, I wish Shane good luck in the future but tbh if I watch him again and he repeats those kind of antics I will quite simply switch over

If Shane was so bad then what does that tell you about Enzo then???... he just had a life and death struggle with him for goodness sake!. And youre criticising Shanes tactics, how about Enzos constant holding and clutching throughout the bout. You might not want to hear it but Enzo is washed up. I've been watching boxing for the past 30+ years and the pattern with washed up fighters is always the same, its always the fighter who is the last to know when to hang them up and their is always a coiter of fans only too willing to cheer him on as he takes more and more acclumative punishment... yet all too often these particular fans are nowhere to be seen down the line after the fighter has belatedly retired and starts to struggle with the results of have had too many fights and taken too many punches and concussions...

I watched the fight as well on Youtube. Sure Shane McPhilbin is a crude brawler but he is fun to watch as he gives it his all, however he does need to cut the binges when not in training if he wants to be seen as a serious force in a very competitive Cruiserweight division here in the UK, as for Big Mac if he gets the tactics right in the rematch and does not let himself drag into a brawl where his questionable punch resistance and chin will be exposed he should (in theory) dominate McPhilbin in the rematch.

18 stone that is quite alot of weight for a guy that is about 6ft//6ft 1 when you think about how long ago was this?. But fair play to him for getting himself into some pretty good shape to drop down into the Cruiserweight division over time, and he did not disgrace himself in fighting a big hitting former European and World Champion in Enzo Mac, he showed tons of heart and grit in the fight but he ulitmately came up short against experienced operator in Big Mac and I am sure he is going to be fired up for it, however I still Big Mac's superior experience getting him another win.

I can see the point Jessi is trying to make,the first thing i ever got taught was defend yourself at all times&not to turn your back on your opponent which Shane done countless times..You say hes only had a few pro fights,but he had boxed as an amatuer&he should know better..Whatever anyone thinks of him,you cant take away the fact that he held the lonsdale belt

IRlangmaid25, he was 18 stone and what ? Hatton got from 13st down to 10st regularly, Shane has done well to win the British title and he does seem like a very nice bloke with lots of character, but at the end of the day his a professional boxer and IMO I just believe he didn't do himself any favors in there after the 3rd round, maybe the next fight will be different and I wish him the best. It's not a dig but a fact, and no I'm not on crack, most people looking at the crowd are trying to showboat and most people looking at the corner are in trouble, I've watched a lot of boxing in the past 27 years I know what I'm watching mate

Mind you the Cruiserweight division here in the UK was not helped by having a Champion who sat on his titles rather than defending. But good on him for getting himself in terrific shape and fighting often and let's hope he continues to serve up terrific entertainment here on the British scene and we need plenty of characters in this sport. And Jessi I watched the fight and I don't think you on crack at all but I do think Big Mac got out of jail there and the Board had no choice in suspending the Timekeeper as he was really in queer street after Shane McPhilbin dropped him twice and was unlucky to have the bell rang early before he had the chance to try and finish Big Mac off and I was not keen on the showboating either mate!!.
