I'd been reminded that the thread was about current boxers; I can certainly see Joe Calzaghe in there and another who took a goot punch well and kept trying to win was Henry Wharton.

For active fighters I'd have to go with Froch.
Honourable mentions: Hatton, Degale, Chisora, Mitchell and (never thought I'd say it but) Khan. Can't mention any less well known fighters off the top of my head, I don't have sky sports or allegedly so I don't get to see everything, sadly.

Ola Afolabi has to be near the best and Froch of course. Domestic front Nigel Wright has a very good chin.

Best chin in British boxing .???? This tends to give the impression that it is 'current' boxers, otherwise 'ever' or 'all time' would correctly refer to past and present.

Maybe Damian can clear it up? Matt Scriven has been around and takes a good shot.

Carl Froch-present, Clinton Woods(body shots vs Jones jnr)-past and George Feeney cos when i was growing up and read the BN religously, i remember him travelling to Italy and going the distance back to back with Mancini and Howard Davis, although i know Davis was a pure boxer, Mancini at that time was a ball of fire.Also lost pts to Boza Edwards.

Wayne McCulloch, Chris Eubank - Eubank also had incredibly powers or recovery. The beating he took of Watson, and his subsequent rise off the floor to hit him with that uppercut was almost superhuman.

Calzaghe had a great chin, until right at the end of his career when he seemed to be come quite susceptible to flash knockdowns.

Yes was referring to current boxers but i admit i maybe didnt make it clear .

Your absolutely right billy bessey . A good journeyman does know how to ride a shot. No doubt , but everyone takes a full on shot. We can all take a feckin big shot or we wouldn't be able to fight the lads we do. Regular. We do have to balance things out by coming forward when we can tho. We don't just tuck up constantly.

It could be. Once your relexes go it would be harder to avoid punches more and more. Some guys just seem to be able to withstand anything though. John Duddy springs to mind. He shipped incredible head shots and stayed on his feet.

Thanks for your answer; I'd read and heard about boxers that had ben renowned for their resiliance but had become more fragile but didn't know whether it was a case of 'water dipping against a rock', a general physical deterioration or what; (Oliver McCall has kept very tough though).

And in his last fight against JCC Jnr John Duddy shipped a ton of punishment I think I saw somewhere that Chavez landed 60% of his power shots on Duddy.
