Yeah but does that certain promoter actually pay his fighters?
I keep hearing all these fighters havnt been paid,if i was owed money id be screaming from the roof tops....so why they all keeping quiet??
The desperate hope that one day they will receive what they're owed, perhaps?

To be fair, these stories seem to have gone quiet now so perhaps any bills that were outstanding have now been settled?

Posted earlier, but think i deleted it as on my phone.

In a nutshell, nobody is defending the undercard, but nobody really cares round here - but to explain further, AA Lowe and Leigh Woods are Nottingham fighters.

And this is Froch's Nottingham homecoming. No disrespect to the critical bandwagon jumpers, but nobody is really going to this fight other than to see Carl who has been on the road for last two years.

Also financially it's difficult to deliver Bute a pay packet without American TV money, Bute's a guy who's been earning $2m a fight from his comfy 18,000 seat Bell Centre in Canada.

Bute is not some WBOgus visitor on £15k plus expenses. He is on a mill or more for this trip as visiting champion.

I could understand criticism for Hearn if he'd sat at home releasing "We want Bhop" press press releases whilst delivering completely unknown turd for Froch.

Hearn kept his press releases on ice until it was a done deal - with venue, tickets and press tour organised.

Sure, there will likely be mediocre opponents mixed in with great opponents for his stable on undercards - but as long as that is not the norm and progress is being made then I can't see why people would moan about him spunking all the undercard kitty to get Lucian Bute.

He could have got WBC #3 Noe Gonzalez over or Adonis Stevenson for pocket change and put on a solid undercard, but who cares for that? nobody.

He could have taken the absolute piss out of Carl's fans by swerving a Karpency level bum in , and the Nottingham arena would still have sold out. But that's not his style.

I've got my ticket sorted and I am too disappointed with the undercard. Hopefully they'll line up somebody for Frampton, even if its a Commonwealth title defense.

Ive paid nearly twice as much for my Froch ticket as I have my Quigg v Munroe, which features the likes of Rhodes, Sebchenko and Murray on the undercard.

Gomez..... Thats fair enough obviously people are buying tickets for the big fight Froch-Bute,but as a fan i wouldnt buy a ticket for one fight,i know you have locals on the bill, but you can pick the winner out of every single one of them.....

I wouldn't buy a ticket unless it really was a world class fight that has more interest. The problem is if its a 12 round tactical bore fest or the fight gets stopped after a round due to a bad cut, then what a waste of money unless you have a decent under card.

I think the problem here is the Nottigham Arena isn't the biggest so sellling 10,000 tickets as opposed to 15,000 - 20,000 makes a big difference in revencue made from the fight.

There needs to be at least two more British / commonwealth fights on the bill IMO that won't be too expensive to put on. Purdy v vassell 2 would be one of them!

Adnan Amar
Ryan Aston
John Ryder
Eric Ochieng

You have Adnan then the others up and coming, I think Lee Purdy will get added too, maybe few others like Scotty Cardle too

I shall be there for this and have no problem with the undercard but depends on if your paying £40.00 or £300.00 for the ticket I guess.

I don't get it Tommy Gunn. You were kicking off big time that another promoter was basically leaving the Walsh brothers to rot in Norfolk. And here we have a genuine world title fight here in the UK - and you find it 'sickening to watch' when Matchroom gets some praise ?

If we put the shoe on the other foot - If Froch was Norfolk and the Walsh brothers were on the undercard - people would complain it's a weak undercard, but you would (rightfully) say the headliner is from Norfolk, the lion's share of the audience will be from Norfolk and thus the undercard is also geared towards them too, because it's a Norfolk homecoming for the main man after 2+ years away.

It's a Nottingham home coming, first and last.

As a Notts lad, I'm more than happy with the main event - and an undercard of local fighters is a bonus and nothing more.

The names might mean little to the johnny come lately, but to boxing fans around Nottingham, whom will make 90% of the crowd up they will know who they are.

I'd somewhat see your point if it was PPV but it's not.

The card doesnt repersent value for money, how many new fans will attend another show after seeing 7/8 mismatches and 1 65/35 fight, thats not helping the sport in the long run

Ok, devil's advocate.

Who should be on the undercard and who shall they be fighting that will appeal to an audience made up of 90% or more Nottingham fans ?
