Yes found not guilt after formal investigation by WPBSA head an ex met chief defective then independent tribunal. he was still fined and banned for 6 months.

I am not surprised that this fight has been announced in all honesty but I am struggling to work up any enthasuism for it in all honesty because all I can see his Haye making an utter mess of Chisora before getting battered senseless by a determined Vitali K who wants to the finish the job that Wladimir started.

It is a great question, looked like Boxing News really endorsed allegedly with their sponsorship of the Mayweather vs Cotto fight..... a load of advertising and sponsorship package with the TV channel might influence their stance on the fight.

Me too. I can see upsides and downsides.

Yes, the big worry for me is fighters not being deemed fit, for whatever reason, to hold a licence - getting licenced to fight..... yes sure that happens now on the unlicenced circuit, but then they don't expect to fill football stadiums.

Could we, as an example, have the winner of this fight fighting Riddick Bowe (I'm making an assumption that Riddick wouldn't pass the BBBoC medicals based on his appearance on ringside).

Whilst it not be due to a physical medical issue, the BBBoC have deemed Derek Chisora as currently unfit to hold a boxing licence. We must have uniformity on who is and who is not fit to fight.

I'm genuinely shocked that Haye has taken this. What does it offer him? Financially or career wise?

Financially, the answer should be obvious. Career wise, it's a good match, even leaving aside the marketable grudge. A year's layoff from a damaging world title loss, he goes in with a respected fringe contender. That's fair enough. What other kind of fight would he have? Any lower down the rung could be a mismatch, and any higher would be undeserved.

Why must we have uniformity? And who are "we" anyway? If 22 fat knackers with bad knees and no eyes decided to book Wembley for a football match and sell tickets for the privilege of being able to watch, what's the problem? The onus is on the potential customer to decide if they want to buy a ticket or not.

Not sure the analogy is exactly holds true cause of the more violent nature of the sport. If you have 22 fat knackers with bad knees - you can see exactly what the problem is and you can make judgments (the punter).

If you have a fighter with some damage retina, not that visible in press conferences etc, or you have a fighter who has had some neural damage.... and they end up blinded or worst.... how will the press react, what about insurance details and claims etc. What will that do for the nay sayers who want to ban the sport.

Spencer Oliver recently spoke and said words to the effect of "if by some miracle the BBBoC would licence me, I wouldn't hesistate but to comeback"..... Now, Spencer is aware that the BBBoC wouldn't and he is not actively seeking out a chance with them.... but now there are avenues available..... possibly not for Spencer himself, because his was such a high profile problem.... but what about Barry Jones before him, or Nigel Wright now.
