Re: McCloskey Corley

It's fornicating boxing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No kidding. Corley had lost 8 of his last ten, with many of his conquerors being inexperienced prospects.Terrrrry wrote:McCloskey really showed his level in there tonight.
Nowhere near world class.
piffle he was gettiing a pasting and looked shit for the majority of the fight. Paul's legs did a dance one too many times..he called the refs bluff too.Horse wrote:McCloskey is cheated not defeated for a second time.

He wasnt stopped ealier, he was looking straight at him after the punch, and history (prescott) showed he can bounce back from a punch. Ref needs to do some god damn research before the fight. Careers are at stake.bfchunk wrote:Bad stoppage handled terribly by IJL. That said, McCloskey was hurt (despite what he says) and I think Corley would have stopped him seconds later.
He's not a bad fighter, but his recent fights suggest that he is beatable well below the world class level. The Dark Destroyer wrote:I saw highlights of his last fight on Kotv, the commentators said the lad he beat was a promising up and comer. He should not have been stopped, he was cheated.Final round wrote:piffle he was gettiing a pasting and looked shit for the majority of the fight. Paul's legs did a dance one too many times..he called the refs bluff too.Horse wrote:McCloskey is cheated not defeated for a second time.
Looking at someone hardly suggests that a fighter isn't badly hurt. McCloksey has never been hurt like that before, so I don't think the Prescott fight should be read into too much. I do agree that it was an early stoppage though.mpurintun wrote:He wasnt stopped ealier, he was looking straight at him after the punch, and history (prescott) showed he can bounce back from a punch. Noted, but at that point he was hurt. If Corley followed straight up the stoppage would have been legitimate.mpurintun wrote:He wasnt stopped ealier, he was looking straight at him after the punch, and history (prescott) showed he can bounce back from a punch. The Provodnikov fight was MUCH closer than the cards show. A split IN CANADA to Andre Gorges, a closer than the cards show loss to Marcos Rene Maidana IN Argentina...losses to Dulorme (a star in the making) and Matthyse are nothign to be ashamed by.crusader wrote:No kidding. Yes. I get it. Wasnt disagreeing with you bro, But the fornicating ref didn't let it be legit. No reason to stop fight. Let him at least get knocked down.bfchunk wrote:Noted, but at that point he was hurt. Sorry he asked to get stopped by doing his jellylegs dance after getting his head rotated 360 by a right hook.Horse wrote:He should not have been stopped, he was cheated.Final round wrote:piffle he was gettiing a pasting and looked shit for the majority of the fight. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt he have jelly legs earlier in the fight and it continued? In fact, he started to come back. Also, my bet was the over 9.5 so I won, but it was disappointing to me.Final round wrote:Sorry he asked to get stopped by doing his jellylegs dance after getting his head rotated 360 by a right hook.Horse wrote:He should not have been stopped, he was cheated.Final round wrote:piffle he was gettiing a pasting and looked shit for the majority of the fight. No cheating required put down your pitchforks and torches
He did it a couple of times, the last time was for real imo glad you won though.mpurintun wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt he have jelly legs earlier in the fight and it continued? Andre Gorges is mediocre and according to reports I've come across a draw would've been the fairest result; Dulorme is still completely unproven; Fedchenko won fairly according to reports I read; and Matthyse dropped him 8 times.iamasadlittleboy wrote:The Provodnikov fight was MUCH closer than the cards show. I've not seen the fight with Serhiy Fedchenko though it was in Russia so...

The BBBofC are not going to do anything about this. They are a disgrace and they are an embarrassment to British boxing.
