I saw highlights of his last fight on Kotv, the commentators said the lad he beat was a promising up and comer. Corley went down but other than that he looked quite good from what they showed of it.

He's not a bad fighter, but his recent fights suggest that he is beatable well below the world class level.

Looking at someone hardly suggests that a fighter isn't badly hurt. McCloksey has never been hurt like that before, so I don't think the Prescott fight should be read into too much. I do agree that it was an early stoppage though.

Noted, but at that point he was hurt. If Corley followed straight up the stoppage would have been legitimate.

The Provodnikov fight was MUCH closer than the cards show. A split IN CANADA to Andre Gorges, a closer than the cards show loss to Marcos Rene Maidana IN Argentina...losses to Dulorme (a star in the making) and Matthyse are nothign to be ashamed by.

I've not seen the fight with Serhiy Fedchenko though it was in Russia so...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt he have jelly legs earlier in the fight and it continued? In fact, he started to come back. Also, my bet was the over 9.5 so I won, but it was disappointing to me.

Andre Gorges is mediocre and according to reports I've come across a draw would've been the fairest result; Dulorme is still completely unproven; Fedchenko won fairly according to reports I read; and Matthyse dropped him 8 times.

Chop Chop can still fight, but he is clearly not a world class fighter anymore, so this fight says a lot about McCloskey's level.

Well, well, well. McCloskey was found out to be a British level fighter tonight.

Corley made him look amateurish and practically schooled him in every department... In a way I'm actually glad the fight was stopped. I could see possibly a home town cooking brewing. I think Corley would have stopped him anyway. McCloskey was eating leather for most part of the fight and looked to be busted up, out on his feet at times.

Corley is simply amazing for his age. He is in tremendous shape and still has some of those slick skills.

At least we don't need to hear about McCloskey anymore eh? Nothing against the guy, but the hype surrounding him was beginning to get a tad over the top. World class? No chance. He was schooled by a shot Corley, and I struggled to give him three rounds on my card.

Bad stoppage? Maybe. I think it may have been a blessing in disguise. McCloskey was getting beat up and clouted with just about every power shot Corley threw.

Yes I think he was well within his rights to stop it. Paul's senses 'looked' scrambled. If it was kidology he did it too convincingly 'cos he looked fcked.

The stoppage was quite poor but not as poor as mcCloskeys defence. Chop chop was brought in as another opponent after Diaz what would have happened had he stepped up in class had he won?
