I think Burns can outbox Mitchell, despite this one will be fighting at home.

Did you see Burns spar mitchell in the lead up to the Mitchell v Murray fight?
I can remember rumours around that time that burns had too much for mitchell in the sparring sessions which resulted in them being cut short. Possibly just rumours but at the time when i heard it i was tempted to whack a decent sum on murray to stop mitchell. Glad i didnt.

i would Pick Burns in this one and possible stoppage,
those body shots he was whacking into Katsidas were hurting him and hes a tough tough man.

More Likely Burns points but defo think hell win.

Thats exactly what i was thinking when i said i thought burns could stop him.
His body shots have improved big time over the years. although his record doesnt suggest it i think burns hits a fair bit harder than a lot of people give him credit for.

Could well have been due to the fact that Katsidis was struggling like hell to make lightweight. He said so himself after the fight.

prior to the burns fight, katsidis did announce he was moving up to 140, so this looks well founded.

however, prior to facing mitchell, prescott was about to go up to 140. so he will have been tight, also.

anyway, this will be a great fight and i'm glad of this rather than mitchell-rees which left burns without an opponent and mitchell iwthout the world title fight he seemed to have earned by beating murray.

Definite 50/50 fight, depends which version of Mitchell turns up. Great matchup.

Great great fight and the second time i will see Mitchell at Upton park, hopefully he turns up this time and its a proper fight.

See Burns nicking it in a close one, like someone said earlier, Mitchell won't want to perform in front at Upton Park like he did last time, but i do think Burns has the edge.

Gutted that this fight in England, people who follow Burns have spent good money to see him against lesser opponents up here in Scotland and now both of his most recent big fights have been in England.

Mitchell should be coming to Ricky's back yard to fight, sadly money talks. Obviously if rumours are to be believed then its gonna be a good card but still disappointed of the location. Burns hasn't filled the Braehead Arena but in my eyes a lot of that has been due to match ups with lesser known opponents. Burns V Mitchell or even Burns v Katsidis would have sold well here. Especially if it was promoted and advertised properly.

Lead up to Prescott fight, it was 50/50 but it always seemed Mitchell had two more gears, I'm really looking forward to this one, yes I'm a big fan of Mitchell, same sir name and from the same area, older members of both families know each other.
I really like Ricky too, I remember watching him on BBC on his pro debut, always knew he could be good, great role model, I believe it's a 50/50 fight according to the bookies, but my money's on Mitchell and I want him to win too, the fans are the winners here !

It is an easy fight, Burns will just work out the jab and body shots and control the whole fight.

Mitchell is far too clever and able for this to be an easy fight for Burns. Mitchell has a bag of boxing ability and a powerful dig to pull him out of trouble if needed. Burns doesn't have a really hard dig on him, so that evens it up as he is probably the more well-rounded boxer in terms of staying disciplined and not making many mistakes in a fight. A really intriguing battle, certainly not one I expect to be easy for either man.

Totally disagree, I think Mitchell wins personally but I would never say it's an easy fight, it's genuine 50/50

No you never it was 1 year ago and look what happened and it will again

This fight hasnt even been mentioned to us for the 14th June doesnt matter anyway only one winner,i know ive the better man by some margin

I like your man Billy. However every fighter that hasn't been able to really hurt Mitchell has ended up losing.

If Mitchell can walk through Burns' shots, then your man will have to do well to withstand Kevin's power.
