2. Muhammad Ali...Another childhood hero of the 70s along with Duran
3. Sugar Ray Leonard....Extreme class, personality, poise and complete fighter.
4. Julio Cesar Chavez....I will never forget that unforgettable night of March 17, 1990 vs Meldrick Taylor and also the night that he destroyed Edwin "Chapo" Rosario
5. Eusebio Pedroza...Another underappreciated fighter by the media, especially, the American media. Probably, the most complete fighter that I have ever seen. A true WORLD CHAMPION that defended his crown in 10 times in his opponents' backyards.
6. Manny Pacquiao...He is the only reason why I see boxing today. Any other fighter, to me, does not matter. An all-time great that could become a legend of this sport.
7. Bobby Chacon....In boxing, I have seen lots of great warriors: Joe Frazier, Evander Holyfield, Marvin Hagler, Cornelius Boza Edwards, Arturo Gatti, Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns, etc...But none of them match the heart of this guy. Especially when I saw his fight with Bazooka Limon, the last one, it showed me of what a true warrior should be.
8. Kid Gavilan...What a fighter. Does not get the credit that he deserves. To me, a true all-time top 50 great.
9. Mike Tyson...I am talking about the Tyson that used to kick and whup your ass, kiss you, and tell you bye-bye and did not talk much at all. He was all busines! After he joined Don King, he was never the same guy.
10. James Toney...I thought this guy was going to be a true all-time great and one of the greatest fighters ever. Had warrior mentally, mad skills, and can fight, truly fight. But after or during his fight with the great Roy Jones, Jr, he was never the same guy, got too lazy and did not train hard enough ever again, except for a few fights. But what a fighter.
Honorary mention:
Riddick Bowe
Evander Holyfield
Were not my favorites, but I appreciated their boxing styles:
Ken Buchanan
Thomas Hearns...could have been the best ever if he had a great chin and better stamina.
Alexis Arguello
Marvin Hagler
Salvador Sanchez
