Asde from Promotional issues Froch would have a problem putting enough weight ON.
This rumour mill crap is all emanating from the Cleverly camp.
Froch can make serious money by staying at Super Middle starting with avenging the Kessler defeat.

the thing is calzaghe on ringside wouldnt give froch any credit for his last 6 fights,he said he just about got the victory against dirrell just about put away taylor beat a slow arthur abraham and got beat by kessler,imo didnt calzaghe do the same with jones and hopkins both old and way past their prime,even tho hopkins could of beat him that night. froch is a warrior better warrior than calzaqghe imo but skill wise calzaghe would of had more than froch could of handled,a southpaw with speed like lightning is enough for any boxer prime or no prime :)

Calzaghe won the first 7 rounds easily, Reid had a good few rounds and Calzaghe finished well.
Even in post fight interview, Reid didn't claim he won.

in their primes calzaghe was too good - calzaghe wins close point decision

if it happened back when froch was calling calzaghe out before he retired, calzaghe was at his his best at the end of his career and froch hadn't reached his best - calzaghe wins slightly wider points decision

if it happened now, froch would score a quick knockout, regardless of which weight division they met - froch wins KO

Reid did not beat Calzaghe fair and square, I watched the fight years later and score it to Reid by one round, but it could have gone either way...as it did.

Calzaghe would have toyed with Froch in his prime, you can't blame Joe for his comments on Ringside, Froch was hardly complimentary towards him during his Hennessey days.

It'll never happen now though.

The noise coming from Matchroom is that Froch will have an easier fight next (he deserves one!) get the IBF mandatory out of the way and then look to Kessler, as for Cleverley, don't make me laugh!
