I understand that.

I'm not claiming that Haye's performance against Klitschko proves that he can't beat Chisora early and easily; it showed that Haye was overrated. I think he is still overrated given the number of people predicting an quick and easy victory for him, as nothing in either fighter's career suggests that such an outcome is highly probable.

I thought significantly fewer people would overrate Haye following the Klitschko bout, but I was probably wrong given the number predicting a quick and easy Haye victory.
I think there is a good argument to say that Chisora is coming off 24 good rounds while Haye hasn''t fought in over a year, however as far as I'm concerned Haye has better wins on his record be that his win v Ruiz or Harrison, and I think he'll be well up for the fight.
Sure.

There are many reasons to believe that Haye will defeat Chisora; there are few, if any, to believe that he will stop him easily and quickly.[/quote]

I would say that the times he has taken on heavyweights the same hight as him; Bonin, Barrett and Ruiz, he has stopped them, even though they're all pretty durable guys. That gives the impression he''s pretty explosive when punching straight and not made to work to get his shots off, I think Chisora isn't as skillful defencivly and the combined result of the punches over 6-8 rounds should do for him.

Chisora has shown far better durabilty than the notoriously chinny Barrett, and Ruiz, who was dropped several times throughout his career, was well past his prime. Haye also failed to stop them early and without problems; Barrett knocked him down and Ruiz lasted nearly 10 rounds. Bonin was a sub-EBU level fighter who never proved his durability against a notable puncher, so I'm not going to discuss him.

It's worth noting that Haye easily stopped Alexander Gurov and Audley Harrison, who are roughly the same height as Klitschko, yet struggled with short opponents in Fragomeni and Mormeck; I believe Haye's struggles are more attributable to the abilities of his opponents than their heights. Chisora is durable and arguably top ten in his division, so a quick and easy stoppage over him would be a new accomplishment for Haye.

BTW---I don't consider a stoppage between the 6th and 8th to be that early. My criticism is directed more towards the predictions of a blowout in under 5 rounds; it could happen, but it's highly improbable.

Have to agree with you here. Although I believe Haye will win, it will be in the last few rounds. Really surprised that people think it will be over after a short amount of time!

I went for the 6 - 9 option although I think it'll be at the earlier end of that spectrum (6 or 7). Chisora seems to be getting overrated by some (not many) on here. Haye looked like shite against Wlad but Chisora is no Wlad.

Yep - the way I was thinking too :-?
Same here. Haye plays safe. He might get a KO regardless, but I can see him winning on points.
Wow, apparently people still don't get that Haye fights cautious against giants. When he is able to land easily or is forced to let his hands go he does.

Haye starts the better and lands some bombs, but Chisora eats them, comes back and stops Haye in around 11 rounds. That's how this fight will go, just watch.

Del Boy will draw his sting early on, taking the shots and waving an increasingly panicked Haye in, then grind him down in 7 rounds.

I will be watching, I disagree that chisora wins this one but without sitting on the fence it wouldn't supprise me at all if chisora does pull it off, that's why this fight is so good, can't wait :yay:

Vitali couldn't stop Chisora so I don't see Haye doing it. If Chisora comes in at a good fighting weight and implements the same game plan as he did against Klitschko I see him winning this.

7/1 for Chisora via KO/TKO is too big imo.

I agree, he needs to be careful though as DC may slap his red nose off during the weighin.

Surprised people feel Haye will stop Chisora in quick succession (1-5 rounds). Look's like Haye is wielding people in again to his nonsensical talk.

Personally think people predicting an early blew out for Haye are way off the mark to how this fight goes down. Chisora went the distance with hard hitting Fury, Helenius, V.Klitschko. If people think Chisora is going to be utterly dominated and smashed inside 5 rounds their in for a rude awakening here. It took 5 rounds for Haye to get rid of Monte Barrett, and 9 rounds to take out Ruiz. Whilst Ruiz was very durable, he was also old and wasn't a exactly a hungry fighter anymore.

Chisora is being overlooked IMO. He is very hungry, has a tone of heart, is durable, and will not lye down. Wlad aside.. Haye hasn't fought a guy like Chisora for a long time. This is a guy looking to win and will be fighting till the final bell.

I'll happily eat humble pie if I'm wrong, but I see Chisora making it passed the 7th at the absolutely least. The question is how the fight is going at this point. If Chisora can hang in there without substantive damage - he has a chance.

I see a grueling encounter for both men. Chisora taking some damage in the early stages, but being more competitive as the fight goes on.

116-112 Haye.

I see an early win for Haye. Haye's stamina is trash, if Chisora is in his face like he was in Vitali's Haye will almost certainly fold, so I think he is going to look to get him out there early.

Good forecast. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Chisora's corner throw in the towel in the final few rounds either.

People who think haye will win by ko is fooling themselves.Haye do not have same power as Vitali, even at this stage in their careers.Derek most certainly will take his best shots and smile.Haye will not exchange with him.He is not so stupid to do that.Instead he will be running all fight long, hoping his big punches connect.

If Chisora can bring pressure for all 12 rounds,he can win,or come very close to victory.
That's all depending in what shape he comes to fight. If he comes lighter than fight against Vitali or close to that weight, his chances are very high, but that is doubtfull.
He probably wil come between 250-255 pounds.Too long out of gym to burn all that fat.

Both will come to fight night, not in the best shape. One of two will gass out at some point in the fight.

I did like David Price's point that the much taller Fury, Klit and Helenius were all bouncing shots off the top of Chis-o's dome, whereas the shorter Haye will be naturally winging them in right on the button...

Does it make a difference here?

Could well be. Personally I've gone for Haye on points. He's still the 3rd best heavyweight in the world IMO but I hesitate to predict that Chisora will be stopped when he has looked so durable up to this point.

On the flip side, I know we're talking different styles but I find it hard to envisage Chisora finding the punches to stop Haye that Vladimir couldn't. Shuffling forward pressure surely won't be enough to break Haye down.
