I'e always found Dominic to be a fair and calm guy who looks after his fighters (keep fitters as well as the pro's) well and whose advice is usually spot on!! He can certainly read a fight well and is usually very good at unpacking the problems posed by the opposing fighter.

"A bit intense" is a bit of an understatement. Maybe he thinks people have the opinion that he is only where he is in boxing because of his dad and this makes him prickly and defensive. He did threaten to knock me out once, which would have been interesting if he'd tried to; "The Bodybuilder versus The Bum" ! I found John (Ingle) to be a much more easy-going and even-tempered individual.

I can only go on what i saw and it looked like they were panicking to me.

I think like what a few have said before, they clearly didn't expect what happened and were not prepared for it. They have been in so many corners before they should have been ready for anything.......they weren't, and that was plain to see.

I'm purely talking about the corner here, i do believe Kell will learn from it and it may prove a blessing in disguise because i doubt they will ever get caught like that again (The corner).

Good post. I'd listen to the world champions who he has looked after rather than some bitter keyboard warriors.

I am sure dominic would say that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the ingles cv of champions etc speaks for itself.

It does but you must admit they looked a bit lost when Kell started to show signs of tiredness etc?

We have been down Sheffield to spar a few times in the past and firstly Kel is an awesome fighter, nobody combines speed and power like he does, once after a sparring session he asked me what I thought were his weaknesses, at first I did not want to, only commenting on how good he was, but he insisted, so I told him that he does not fight inside and does not counter off the ropes, he nodded his head in agreement and said I was right, that showed me he is aware of his weaknesses, the sign of a great fighter who can only get better, in his fight with Carson Jones he threw some great counters off the ropes, but still needs help with inside work, he could get that from trips to the USA, working with inside masters, his problem on saturday was stamina, conditioning, he also needs to pace himself better and use his explosiveness in bursts at the right times.

As far as Dominic Ingle, he has always come over as very professional to me, he also speaks a lot of sense in the corner, in fact he was yelling instructions during the fight, for Kel to move to his right away from Carson Jones right hand, the only area of concern was the panic by his other corner men, who did not seem to be on the same page as Dominic, though if there is an area of question for Dominic, it would be why he did not seem to use any vasaline after washing Kel down and then drying him off ?

I was not watching it on tv mate so was unaware of any corner issues.

I actually think that Dom's instruction to turn southpaw and move away from Jones right hand was a major assistance in keeping Carson off

Everybody was yelling at Kell to do just that - bloody Rhodesy looked like he was flagging a taxi down for six minutes !
Dom knows where he's at - and people forget, he's been in and around Kell's career for a bloody long time.
He was frustrated more than anything when he had the odd rant in the corner.

i like your contributions when you are like this saf, i think that's why myself and others get frustrated when you get involved in slagging matches

Yes I didn't think Ingle came over very well in the corner there - Kell had just had a bad round, and Dom spent nearly the whole minute faffing around with ice and yelling at the bucket man, giving his man zero advice. Panic stations no doubt.

As someone else mentioned, Dom Ingle was shouting to Kell to stay southpaw, jab and step to the right, which was working for him.

As for "Watergate" - for me, this is a bit of a red herring. I think Ingle was a bit shocked at how tired Brook was on return to the corner, so instead of administering the usual water, he decided some ice was called for. Okay, some muppet was a bit slow in handing it to him, which is why he (rightly) raised his voice. To me, the ice strategy showed Ingle changing his plan (albeit in a fairly basic way) according to the needs of his fighter, which is a good thing.

Having seen you both fight I don't think you'd have lasted long.

You may have seen me box, but you've never seen me fight Mr.Specialist. And yes, having done both, there is a difference. Anyway we'll never know will we? It's a bit like a peak Ali taking on a top of his game Tyson, all what ifs. The world will just have to keep on dreaming on for the dream fight. Anyway, you seem to know who I am, who the hell are you? Is that you Dominic?

Really? I can only speak as I find.

As for the corner, not many camps juggle contenders, future world champions and jobbing journeymen, a lot jettison the guys who lose more often than they win once they get a few champions in the camp. It has been a while since they had a guy involved in these types of fights, so maybe it was a shock to the system and the water dude (as in "water dude", not "What a dude" took a while to get things together, prompting Ingle to address the issue.

Plus he's from Sheffield, they all have strangely high pitched voices over there and call other men "love".

Which reminds me, we got lost en route to the venue and had to pull into a garage to ask directions. A guy was filling up his car, so was going to drive somewhere, and he was clearly drunk, had open wounds, presumably from a fight, and was borderline racist, he also called me "love". His directions were spot on, mind.

I do love Sheffield, love.

It might have been local M.P David Blunkett (the borderline racism). Did he have a dog with him? He really shouldn't have been driving without one.
