He is a joke figure in Boxing circles after that feeble performance against Wlad. He has no credibility and I don't think he is a salesman. I would rather use the either of the following terms:

Confidence trickster, shyster and/or charlatan.

Definition of Charlatan:

"A very convincing liar. A scam artist pretending to be interested in your well-being or wants you to be interested in someone else's well-being in order to trick you into handing over your money. A person who manipulates your vulerabilities and appeals to your emotions with a touching story or puppy-dog face before asking for a 'financial' gift."

The international/intercontinental/intergalatic thing was introduced largely so TV could sell "Championship" boxing, you're right. But I doubt one extra person will watch Saturday's fight because of these baubles, this fight sold itself to the widest possible audience back in February.

I subscribed to CH437 way before the announcement of this fight so no I wasn't suckered in.

Either way I don't share the negativity around this fight as a match up. There are people making picks on both sides. Style wise I can't imagine it being a disappointment.

People calling this a "freakshow" are probably the same twerps who phone up Talksport and try to write the fight off because they know they aren't going to get to see it.

difference is some people have followed his career for longer than the last 4 years You're not a man city supporter are you?

Haye's wonderful selling point is that he is a world class fighter, but not in the Klitschko's league, but he can sell to the public fighting opponents he can easily beat; ie Harrison, and IMO Chisora. In that he is a liar; if you think he is trying to convince you that he's the World's number one heavyweight then you're misreading the hype, he's just selling you a fight.

Listen, anyone banging on that Haye doesn't deliver is spouting tripe. The Klitschko performance is clearly poor, no dispute there. Valuev, he boxed well, OK poor tactics but then lit him up in the 12th which given the size of Valuev was worth the performance alone. His CW career showed that he had the balls to go abroad and fight the linear and recognised champions, in exciting fights. It doesn't matter that he's up a weight, he has sold himself to everyone and will make amazing money to beat up guys with no problems. That does not mean that Haye is a poor fighter or that he has no guts, the guy I do believe would fight anyone for the right price. He's just a good enough businessman to make his money the way he chooses. I personally don't doubt his quality or heart, just his sales tactics.

He was atrocious! Even Evander Holyfield battered Valuev and got jobbed on the cards. Haye barely scrapped past him.

To be fair you have just cut the sentence in half to suit what you want to say.

I don't believe a word Haye says, given the chance he'll dance around and land 1 or 2 punches per round, keeping his chin well out of the way - giving the fans another Valuev / Wlad bore a thon.

Difference here is that I think Del will come at him and take his punches pretty well - forcing Haye to actually fight....Del will batter him for a TKO 7

No I'm not expecting a wild shootout i'm expecting a fairly average fight in which haye boxes his way to a points win. I'm looking forward to khan Garcia alot more, think khan's much better value for money than haye.

I could put the whole sentence in and it would still mean the same! You thought he boxed well against Valuev and if anybody thinks otherwise they're "spouting tripe"

I meant, that Haye is not someone who consistently fails to deliver a performance, and stand by that anyone who suggests he does IS spouting tripe, this is clearly not true.
I actually questioned his tactics against Valuev, but to the plan he had, he did box well.

Yeah it is funny to see these people who haven't actually watched most of Haye's career. Until he started fighting giants Haye has been one of the most value for money boxers around, always looking for the KO. In fact I remember him getting constantly slagged off for most of his career for just being a puncher and not being tactical enough.

Everyone should be thanking Haye for removing ppv on sky. You probably wouldnt be getting Khan for free if he had not.

Again, how can people say Haye never delivers. Amazing. Having watched the guy, as an amatuer, throughout his whole career, he has built it on delivering and not, like most nowadays, taking on cosy, cannon fodder and claiming to be the best.

Haye has done it the hard way all along and constantly turned in great performances. People cite his fight with Wlad but conveniently neglect to mention that Wlad is a fine champion and would do well in most past eras. Wlad deserves the credit. Haye himself, toe issue aside, said that the best man won that night. End.

SKY and Matchroom pushed Audley. Ruiz was the No1 contender and Barret was his indoctrination into the HW's (apart from his brief flirtation, prior to the Enzo Mac fight), when Barrett still had something to offer, coming off a blowout of Tye Fields, who was heavily, heavily touted (bizarrely). Enzo Mac, Mormeck, Frogomeni etc all class operators. As for Valuev, for me, was a clear win without any fuss or distress even rocking the big lump in the last round. Those who say he is a showman, yes he is, those who say he is hype and doesn't deliver are simplying implying stuff that is not true.

The Wlad fight was a letdown, but there has not been many in his career.

I'm more getting sucked into the 'Chisora' hype rather than any Haye hype.

Whatever anyone thinks, the facts are that Haye has become and defended Cruisweight and Heavyweight world titles.

Chisora is a man that has lost his last three meaningful fight. OK he plodded forward against Vitali, but Vitali was never in danger of coming annywhere near close to losing his belt. Helenius I guve Chisora credit for, and had him winning that fight and Fury, a lardy lump he got soundly beaten (regardless of the shape he came in at).

allegedly seems to be bigging CHisora up massively for this one of the back of his last two defeats (I acknowledge that the TV company is owned by his manager........).

This time last year Chisora lost a wide decision to Fury, at that stage would anyone have given him a hope against Haye? Not a sniff.

So what's changed? Haye is supposedly having stammina problems, Chisora has a grantie chin, plods forward and as Haye quite rightly said, has 37 lbs of excess fat on him and allegedly seems to be plugging this and erring towards Chisora.

For me, this has another Haye Audley feel about it. A mis match that is getting sold as a 50/50 fight. Chisora will no doubt come to fight, unlike AUdley, but in no way shape or form is he in Haye's class of fighter.

That said, I am starting to get 'sucked in' by the Chisora hype and I can't figure out why. I hope Haye does a number on him and gets a fight with Vitali as the Haye that showed up against Wlad wasn't the Haye we know that can perform. 12 months ago, despite a solid chin, I'd have said Haye takes out Chisora in the early rounds. Hype aside, Haye knows he didn't perform against Wlad and knows he needs to put on a show to redeem some credibility and so I wouldn't be surprised if this early finish happens tonight.

No I have not in all honesty mate as I regard him as a false prophet now.
