I have to say no one got suspended by BBBoC, the net result that neither was licenced afterwards.
If law says they can apply for a licence elsewhere then they will do, and did.

I reckon if they had applied to BBBoC with enough cash they'd have licenced them anyway, and the negative publicity has been because they didn't and circumvented it going to Luxembourg.

Anyway, I sound like Allegedly and that's concerning. I have no problem with the fight and will enjoy it a lot more than Khan, whose problem is that he rates himself more highly than anyone else does, and it turns viewers off. Not heard many fighters coming off a loss (it was fixed, and I actually boxed better, no wait, it was a guy by the side of the ring, no hang on I did get outboxed but he was on drugs... I agree it was controversial but you do have to decide who you think was cheating before you complain) refer to themselves as A Superstar of the Sport... Talking about being better known in the US than Kell Brook is in England... What was that all about?
If Khan shows arrogance, puts punters off and fights in the early hours against a kid not many laypeople have heard of, he's not going to be overshadowing a grudge match between two heavyweights at suppertime.

I don't think this fight should have gone on yet. I think Chisroa should have waited for his appeal this month, Haye should have had a temporary block on regaining his license and allow the fight to go on under BBBOC administration in the Autumn.
There is an obvious reason why some parties needed this fight to go on so quickly. I just think it sends the wrong message out that you can have a Munichgate with no repurcussions.
I feel for the fans who have paid a lot of money, for what is looking like a far below average show. I also think that not allowing the trade paper into your shows (albeit it was about 9yrs ago) because they reported what they honestly believes speaks volumes.

Gotta agree about the quality of the show, the rest of the card looks dross and I am disappointed the main event is a 10 rounder for some reason.

Disagree a bit about Munichgate, still think the negative press has been what's made this fight such a big seller. In the grand scheme of things it's no worse than every other Press conference brawl - Tyson bit Lewis' leg, Hide v Bentt (?), remember Bowe laying a beautiful one-two on someone too at a presser too... Lewis Rahman had a wrestle... The list is endless. To me it's pretty immaterial that it wasn't the two combatants - the bystander was Haye and nobody involved in that fracas has been detrimentally affected by it. Big deal IMO.

I've read all the comments so far ,and everyone has a right to their opinion . But , most of you ,as well as me , are simple ordinary people who have to abide by the rules or face the consequences . If we break the rules in sport , be it amateur football or whatever , we get fined or suspended . We know that when we participate . How do we feel when some rich guy breaks the same rules ,but is NOT punished for the same offence . Obviously we would be outraged . Whats the difference here ?
And to have OUR trade paper and magazine advertising the fact on their front pages without much criticism inside , is simply sickening .If ,for instance , Matt Seawright was suspended for 6 months because he spat on an opponent , and some small hall promoter ignored the ban and let him fight anyway ,would the Boxing News and Boxing Monthly come out and support the promoter ,and report his contest because they have a duty to record fights for the fans ?? I'll let the fans answer that one .
Most comments are from fans I think , who simply want to see a big fight . fair enough . But on Monday morning those fans can carry on with their lives , but those involved in boxing face a very uncertain future .

Had Chisora's licence been suspended you would be right, but it wasn't, it was withdrawn leaving him free to go apply for a licence elsewhere... Nobody has ignored anuy ban in this case. So get over it.

Listen - regardless of the terminology used , the BBB of C 'banned ' Chisora !! According to this country's regulatory body , Chisora is not allowed to fight tonight .
And lets remember why he's banned .

1 Slapping the the world champion at the weigh-in .

2 Spitting on the world champion's brother in the ring before the fight .

3 Threatening to 'burn' David Haye amongst other events in Germany . In street parlance ' burn' equates to 'whack ' , 'wipe out ' etc etc , in other words 'murder' , 'kill' .

Also remember Haye was almost as bad . Clearly punching Chisora with a bottle in his hand . The 'retired ' Haye didn't even have a licence at the time so couldn't be 'banned ' .

Do we think Chisora and Haye should not be banned ??? Given that all this only happened 5 months ago, what IS surprising is that Haye and Chisora are not currently in jail in Germany .
The fact that both are going to earn millions thanks to the Sun , the joke country's boxing federation , 30,000 fans , and TV purchasers really does say a lot about our sport and much of the country in general .
But boxing is saved when I see Gavin Rees and Derry Matthews , honest to goodness professionals ,battering lumps out of one another and then congratulating each other when the fight's over .
Well , enjoy the fun while it lasts tonight ,and be prepared for the fallout afterwards . Large national companies like the BBC , ITV and possibly SKY cannot afford to have their image tarnished by supporting professional boxing when events like this happen , because the non-boxing public will not stand for it . The sport executives in these companies think that boxing is run by thugs ,and I think that is the real reason why SKY are reducing their boxing coverage - PPV and a show almost every week , to about 30 shows a year and no PPV , to 24 shows a year with only one promoter . Wether or not I think Chisora and/or Haye should be banned is irrelevant, I'm not involved in the politics of boxing at all (thank goodness)! Frankly, the idea that they should be in prison is laughable at best. In Hayes case, if you wound up serving time for what was basically a scuffle, then I need to hand myself in to various authourities.

The LBF are allowed to sanction fights outside of their homeland, which is what they have done. Chisora and Haye were allowed to apply for a licence to box for another body, which is what they have done. Its neither of their fault if the BBBofC left those particular loopholes (I understand thats what they are) open for everyone on board to jump through. More fool the BBBofC if you ask me.

We know that the bbbc made a ballsup not banning chisora but those involved in this should have the morals to respect that in effect they should not be holding this matchup in the uk. As for haye..i lost all respect for him after the wlad fight and then turninup at a press conference just to cause trouble.him and booth can go fornicate themselves

Mate you're reaching now. If a thug like Tyson (proper Tyson not the big one fighhting at the minute) were to come along again and be able to sell subscriptions and receive high viewing figures then TV companies would have him on despite being a thug outside the ring. If the TV companies were so disgusted they wouldn't have repeatedly shown the brawl between Haye and Chisora but people wanted to see it so they aired it.

Tyson had a huge following unlike DC and DH. Thats the difference.

Why does Boxing News put not the best fight, but the most talked-about fight, on its cover?

Same reason Empire puts Spiderman on its cover rather than a Sundance winner, why What's On TV puts Eastenders on the cover rather than a documentary, why a music magazine puts Lady Gaga on the cover rather than an independent artist, why FHM puts sexy women on its cover rather than gadgets.

The answer is "it's obvious", rather than a "it's a disgrace".

I wonder if Dalculmy stayed true to his beliefs?
