Pavlik's like Carl's stiffer, more orthodox and predictable halfwit cousin. i think he's perfect to make Froch look great in a decent fight. but one that Froch dominates.

To be fair they're both pretty stiff and rigid in the way they move!

not from the waist, though. Pavlik has always been stiff as a board and moved very little from the waist.

a similar comparison is the Kessler fight, again Kessler like Pavlik much more upright than Froch who actually bends quite well from the waist.

He is a puncher with a suspect chin? but my point is Pavlik is still a name over in the states and he' s won and been tested at a higher level and would be worthy enough to add to Carls record.

Oh I agree, from a name perspective and the credence that comes with that, its a lot better to fight Pavlik than it is Stevenson.

Cannot make a case for Pavlik here. Don't think he has the power to trouble Froch, doesn't have the speed or variety. Good fight for Froch, relatively easy win.

Whatever, should be a fun fight and Froch will win by stoppage. There's no way someone can miss the best years of their career then come back and expect to hang with Froch.

Mate posting up a highlight KO doesn't make him that good. I could post a Bute youtube highlight reel up but it wouldn't suddenly reverse the KO he suffered against Froch.

He's a 6'4 speedy southpaw but like you said there's nothing particularily impressive about him to me! He's unbeaten though so I suppose it looks good on froch's record. Much rather see Pavlik though!

When Pavlic was mentioned to Froch last week on ringside, he didn't seem too keen on the idea. Think he wanted a better opponent at this stage.

In an ideal World Pavlik and Oosthuizen would have fought before facing off against Froch. Unfortunately outside of Kessler these 2 and Stevenson seem the best realistic targets for November.

If it weren't for being contracted to The Super Six, i bet we would have had a few more of these sorts of defences in Nottingham. Fair play to him for the opponents he faced, but he had little option to be honest and then as soon as it was over he was no longer a champion. This is a Calzaghe style hometown defence!

Id rather see Stevenson over Oosthuizen aswell as I think he offers more of a threat but I saw someone on another site saying maybe they're choosing Oosthuizen for when Froch has his rematch with Bute as he's a southpaw with speed which are Bute's attributes aswell. Bute punches harder I think though. Also to be honest Oosthuizen is probably the cheapest aswell!
