I just don't believe this.mcato wrote:Boxing is dodgy at all levels. Ogogo didnt win, however there is too much money incentives for the winner of the gold medal and thats why there is so much cheating.Poncey wrote:Wow![]()
This reminds me of when Phelps didn't win the 2008 gold medal they said he did.

You honestly think that was worse than the Joshua decision?tonyevs wrote:A disgusting result. Probably the worse result i have seen so far.
An even first round. From then on he was a clear loser.
Disgusting. No way did he deserve the verdict. Results like this highlight just what a shit sport the amateur sport is.
Absolutely agree, the judging has been disgraceful in these Olympics.tonyevs wrote:A disgusting result. Probably the worse result i have seen so far.

im pretty sure most posters on here understand AM boxing thanks.manno wrote:Walking a guy down if your not landing counts for f.all in the ams, same as those counts- only count as one scoring punch plus one of em was never a count anyway. Too many ppl judging the bout on a par with pro boxing plus you then have the 5judges who have to press the buttons. Close bout and i loved the other guys style but no robbery.

Yeah, you would think so, wouldn't you? Plenty don't seem to though. In the pro ranks, that lad would have beaten Ogogo every time...but it was a much closer fight under ams judging.kingfinn wrote:im pretty sure most posters on here understand AM boxing thanks.manno wrote:Walking a guy down if your not landing counts for f.all in the ams, same as those counts- only count as one scoring punch plus one of em was never a count anyway. My initial thought was he had lost the 3rd round clearly, but when you see the slow mo most of the stuff was on the gloves , shoulder or back of head. Having said that i still think the Ukranian won by a couple of points, it was closer than people say but still Agogo was lucky. I dont see the big deal home fighters would get the nod in a very close fight in the pro's anyway, i know it bothers some people but it doesnt really bother me, home town decisions do but a bit of it a "i cant make my mind up who won the round it was really close" so give it to the guy whos fans are cheering - thats hometown advantage imo.dondada wrote:Yeah, you would think so, wouldn't you? he would have been stopped in the pro's i think he had the skills but was getting bullied and didnt have the power to push the ukranian back, having said that agogo doesnt look like he would be fighting at middle weight for very long in the pros he'd be better at light heavy once he matures.tonyevs wrote:Crease wrote:I'm delighted for Anthony Ogogo. Not sure about that .. but very sure he isn`t anywhere as good as the Ukranian kid.
Wasn't suggesting most posters dont understand AM boxing at all but i would say most posters are fans of pro boxing 1st just by the nature of the threads while ive been on here myself and that the two sports often become dilluted on the subject of scoring etc. Had 1 or 2 fights myself as pro that if had been scored by amateur judges would have gone the other way. Sorry if i sounded condescendingkingfinn wrote:im pretty sure most posters on here understand AM boxing thanks.manno wrote:Walking a guy down if your not landing counts for f.all in the ams, same as those counts- only count as one scoring punch plus one of em was never a count anyway. standing counts are only an appreciation of a good 'tag', they do not count negatively against the receiver of the count, if i fought and landed 3 decent blows to the target area against an opponent and he landed on ly 2 against me (even though i received a standing count for both blows)... i would still be 3-2 up and i would win the round, not that winning the round counts, its all about the final score.dr_devious wrote:I was at the Excel today and Ogogu's decision was virtually a highway robbery. No way did he win the fight against a very good Ukrainian. To the extent that Ogogu took 2 counts in the second round and still won the round on 2 out of 5 judges cards!!! Lomachenko looks very special, and Khyrov was the best MW on show as well. Joshua got a gift decision last night but Ogogu's was ridiculous. Great atmosphere for the Ogogu fight though
