Why can't they just have the show lasting a hour or so after it's due to finish, who gives a toss if there's a replay of another fight at the end of their recording

I've never had issues with other channels missing off the last few rounds of a fight, but I've repeatedly had a problem with allegedly doing it.

If it's a mainstream channel where the scheduling is tight then I could possibly understand it, but allegedly aren't showing anything worth watching after the fight

The worst channel for not sticking to schedule, or even pretending they have any intention of doing so is Eurosport.

A good point. What is allegedly showing when it's not showing live fights? Replays of live fights? There's only one live show a week, at most, on their channel. How difficult can it be?

Yes; Eurosport is random; proper changes to schedule and times with no explanation, they skip DAYS not hours.

Enjoyed reading this thread over the past week.

Tonight's show is scheduled for a 11pm finish but I expect it will run over by 15 to 20 minutes if Sturm Vs. Geale goes 12 rounds.

Hopefully everyone recording the programme on SKY have either set their manual record, or at the very least recorded the next programme Ring Masters - Nigel Benn.

Sturm Vs. Geale should be a really enjoyable fight. Don't miss the last 3 rounds!

Watched live - thankfully.

The thing with Channel Five (and the majority of times with Sky, unless it's pay-per-view) they show the main event first, then selected highlights from the undercard. Both channels overrun, and go two and a half hours when they say 2. But but putting the main event first, and any decent undercard fights directly after, the only thing you'd miss by taping it is highlight of people making their debut or something equal.

If you use a manual record you don't have these problems. Just set your Sky box so it records an extra 15-20 minutes on the end of a recording. Easy.

But not "easy" in comparison to recording programmes on other channels. I don't think too many people can't do the manual record workaround, but my bugbear is that I shouldn't have to.

Also, once a week I use the Sky EPG search--sports--boxing function to find all programming across all networks that I want to see. For BN fights this means selecting the broadcast, then exiting the search menu and going to the TV Guide. Then i have to select channel 437 and scroll up to seven days to find the subsequent programme that I need to record.

I know the steps, but I resent having to take them. BN should ensure that their broadcasts cover any likely overruns. Now that is what I would call "easy".

I think you resent BN. Come on, it is really, really easy and not worth getting so upset about that you have to go on a forum about it using up so much more of your time than recording the next programme would!

Resent is too strong; I'm fundamentally against the idea of a subscription channel catering for one promoters fighters potentially further splintering UK boxing. And I'm also against the idea that one man can act as manager, promoter and broadcaster for a fighter - the opportunity for the boxer to suffer under these direct conflicts of interest are huge - but my criticisms of the recording issues come down to the lack of desire for BN to address the issue (or at the very least explain why try can't)

But the channels strength so far seems to be the overseas action they have picked up. It's not all about FW.
