Obviously a cheap opponent that will pose little danger. Calzaghe WBO reign all over again. Lot's of talk of fighting big name opponents only to be served up euro guys we've never heard of.

My thoughts exactly....shame as Calzaghe could have earned a lot more money and I believe beaten a number of top fighters had he not been scarred of losing his '0'.

So is this Simcic fellow really Nathan's next opponent or are we just guessing?

It's about time Cleverly was stripped of the title. Let Bellew and Miranda fight for it. Frank and Clev don't even want to fight mandatories, and let's face it, WBO mandatories are generally not as good as the WBC, IBF, WBA. There should be a rule that states you must defend before 90 days and fight a mandatory every 180 days. By all means dish out an interim title during injury, but then the interim must fight the champion.
I do agree with 4 major titles, but it's extracting the urine now.

It is miles better. Miranda is proven quantity at world level - and whilst perhaps past his peak, at least we know what the guy even looks like.
Who is Simic ? I've never heard of the guy. And i bet 95% of hardcore boxing fans in the country haven't either.
Surely as a fan Taffy, you cannot be raptured with this opponent, especially after all the guff about Hopkins etc etc.

If true mate I think it is an awful fight but I am sick to death of the blinkered Bellew fans to be honest.

I bet Nathan has no much choice in who he fights at the moment.

I like Clev, he was really going places with sky pulling for him. But these horrible, tedious WBO no-names must ruin a fighter's enthusiasm in camp.
Shumenov, , Chad Dawson, Cloud, Pascal, Hopkins, Diaconu, Chris Henry - the division has a few names. Gutneckct, Chilemba, Campillo.. Allan Green even.
And I didn't even mention Hopkins. 175lb has plenty of options if your a belt holder.

Would it be different if he was still fighting on sky its upto his promotor?

When you own the channel you can air what you please. But when someone is buying your fight, they'll have a say on the matter I'm sure (eventually).
