To say this is a boxing forum, I'm a little surprised at the voting. It doesn't bode well for the subscription figures if die hard fans are watching at a rate of less than 50%. You could pretty much discount the casual fan, unless they're loaded and have the works on their Sky/Virgin boxes.

Got to remember that only 14 million of 25 million households in the UK have SKY or Virgin. If the channel became available on Talk Talk, BT Vision, Youview and Freeview you'd see a massive hike in people subscribing to the channel.

Imagine how many people involved with boxing will have the channel. I’d imagine that most amateur fighters, professional fighters, promoters, coaches, trainers, gym owners, referees, photographers, boxing writers and boxing broadcasters will be subscribers. Even before the fans get on board, allegedly will probably have a couple of thousand subscribers just from the boxing family alone.

Ey up, Chad. It's nice to be nice but many people in the 'boxing family' put their life and soul into the sport but wouldn't have the inclination to cough up for something they didn't have to. How do I know? Because the editors of Boxing News and Boxing Monthly will tell you so.

Loads of those you list would rarely, if ever, buy a boxing mag and the exact same could be said of the telly. It is strange.

That is sad to here. I just assumed that a dedicated boxing channel would have been a must for those in the game. I suppose it's sad but true that some of the guys who step between the ropes, and put their lives on the line for our entertainment, don't make the mega bucks that they are perceived to. If it's a choice between paying the mortgage or pay TV, a roof over the families head wins all day long.

Oh, that would be understandable mate. Of course, some are skint, especially the amateur kids. But some actually don't give a monkey's about following the sport, really, beyond doing it. You might be surprised (or not) at how many boxers know literally nothing about their opponents, even.

Yeah fair point. I suppose if there are some who just treat it as a job, going home and watching 5 hours of it would be the last thing they'd want to do. I bet there aren't many gynecologists who subscribe to Television X or Red Hot Sluts

No, I prefer Sky, better shows. I used to just watch boxing for the sake of it, but I have got so sick of the poor match making, poor officiating etc. I welcome Sky's new policy of bigger shows and better quality, even if it means fewer shows. Sky, the handful of shows on C5 plus the bunch of shows that I attend each season, is ample for me.

I was completely against the channel to start with i watched it for free when it 1st came out and again when chisora v vitali was on for free. Decided to subscribe for the haye v chisora fight and have scrapped sky to keep boxnotion its great value for money most of the best US and EU fights are on it price v aud is next month its likely hayes next fight will be on it, hattons fight may end up being on it and i love all the behind the ropes stuff.
