The Panamanian Scorpion, Eusebio Pedroza was the best champion ever in defending his title on the road. He did it ten times. Nobody did it better.

Then again, some of are not as lenient on what a road win is. It's not really a road win if the other guy isn't close to the area either. Not to mention he had 8 in his hometown.

Give the man, Eusebio Pedroza, his props. The man was a magnificent fighter on the road. He did it 10 times in the opposition's home turf. The man is an all-time pound per pound great.

Wba champion and Panamanian certainly is more advantageous than fighting based in Jersey, in Jersey.

Pedroza did not need the WBA to retain his crown. He won fair and square all his title bouts with tremendous skill. A true all time pound per pound great and the best and complete boxer that I have ever seen. Let's give the man his props.

I was a fan, there is a difference between giving props and inventing things like you do. He was not up against it fighting lockridge.

For a national icon, Buchanan barely fought in Scotland. I think five times or less and the only one that would be considered big was against Watt and that came after about 7-8 years not fighting there.

On the discussion of road warriors, one really needs to check out the record of west coast featherweight Don Johnson. Quite amazing in itself. I actually sat down and tallied everything up on this Sunday morning. In 87 pro bouts he only fought 23 times in the US. He also fought 23 times in Australia, 11 times in South Africa, 10 times in Mexico, 4 times in Italy, twice each in New Zealand, England, Denmark and Japan, and once each in Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Wales, Panama, Spain, Chile, Thailand and the Philippines. Amazing. And he wasn't a bad little fighter. He won the California state title and was a top contender for a few years, beating along the way Howard Winstone, Jimmy Carruthers, Love Allotey, Juan Ramirez, Danny Kid, Gil Cadilli, Willie Quator, Mario Diaz, Toro George and a young Masataka Takayama, who went on to fight Roberto Duran for the lightweight title.

- Not gonna vet your claims Elmo, but rather point out Brian Mitchell of South Africa has 13 defenses, all his defenses on the road mostly against the hometown guy as the spat and garbage tossed upon white South African villain.

He'd return here and there to South Africa to let all the fans see the champ in action against a top local, but never with the title at stake as the egregious SA boycott was in full sway. Career Record of 45-1-3, 21 KO, he beat the sole guy who beat him 3x, regrettably fatal in their last fight. The always shameless Ring stripped him after one year for reasons probably related to the boycott since he was the best fighter of that era by far.

Perhaps more tellingly, he did it with modest KO power, roughly a 40 KO%

Good observation, but no. The great Alexis Arguello does not has more title defenses on the opposition home Turf more than the great Eusebio Pedroza. Pedroza is the record holder of most title defenses on opponent's home Turf with 10.

Pedroza's breakdown of title defenses were:
10 in opponent's home Turf.
6 in his native country of Panama.
4 in neutral turf.
