Ricky is deluded, if he'd had 3 years of resting, maybe keeping in fairly good shape and chilling out then yes I could see it being a good thing.

Unfortunately it looks like he's spent 3 years boozing, eating crap food and basically being a fat bloke with loads of money from Hyde.

I've seen him out a couple of times smashed off his tree, I guess a lot of people in Manchester have, that guy lives like a rock star, so I just can't see him getting back to any sort of world level and performing well, so therefore what's the point?

Does he really think his body is going to be fresh? I can see him picking up loads of niggles due to all the inactivity and his body will go into shock when he gets hit properly by a proper fighter, I can only see this ending in tears.

Ricky is finished.ge got rid of graham which you can understand as the fighter is the last person to know & graham is a greedy tight sod who would of gladly let his fighter continue for a pay cheque IMO.

Hattons style was based on his outstanding & freakish engine .he had a extremely high output & his strength didn't dip or stamina sag.he peaked before
Tzyu and was on the wane at the stage fw pitched him in.i hope he don't jump in the deep end

A bad decision, I think. Ricky has a lot of miles on the clock. Hatton v Khan would be a massive crowd puller which I would expect Khan to win. Malignaggi is a very improved fighter and it wouldnt be an easy night for Hatton and Timothy Bradley would be far too much for him to handle. Hatton may fight a couple of bums to begin with but he will soon want to fight for a title or a comeback would be pointless. I hate to say it but I just cant see him back at the top.
Mayweather and Pacman are elite fighters and they are the true champoins, sadly Ricky just wasnt up there with them. He won World titles at two weights which was a great achievement but he still failed to beat the very best.
What could he offer now after a three year lay off at 34? I dont want to see him cruelly beaten by some no name, and I think that is very possible.

This is the wrong move for Ricky Hatton........

34 years of age, hasn't fought in three years, last fight was a horrendous knock out, the list goes on. That defeat to Pacquaio has lived with Ricky since the night it happenned and he can't get it out of his head. If Ricky would have been stopped by Pacquaio in say the 8th round, the referee stepping in etc, then this comeback wouldn't be happenning at all. The way he got knocked out in that last fight was in Ricky's eyes an embaressment and he feels he was made to look like a mug of a fighter and it's that and that alone that is the reason for this comeback. He thinks that his whole career was sullied by that one performance and the humiliation of being laid out by a smaller guy in the second round of a fight that was being watched by millions.

Ricky believes that by making a comeback, fighting a few faded names and winning back an alphabet title, he will go some way to restoring his fighting pride and blocking out what happenned in that Pacquaio fight. I wouldn't be suprised if he will go looking for Pacqauio within five fights if his comeback is relatively successful, which it can be if his opponents are selected correctly. This has happenned down the years and the sad fact is that Ricky Hatton is well past his best and it will be a shadow of the guy who fought Mayweather. I hope he reconsiders and if the comeback looks a little sluggish, then he may well decide to finally quit the ring for good.

You don't need to do this Ricky, it's a bad move and you have to accept what has happenned and move on

and Ricky was in awful shape, gaunt as hell a fractious camp and he'd been beaten up by LAssan Diara of all people in Sparring which must have FUcked his confidence terribly.
No shame is losing to both Floyd and Pac but if he loses to a nobody that will haunt him far longer.

I don't think this will end bad for Ricky, in fact, I think it will go well and indeed, surprise us all. He's hardly ever what you'd class as chinny(hadn't he only been down twice before the Manny defeat and one of those was to FM Jnr?).

The key will be if he wins the fight in November, which he surely will(the fans will go 'mad fer it'), how he reacts over the Christmas period. Will he balloon up a little? If he stays in shape and remains injury free, a Feb/March fight could be on the cards.

Two wins and he'll be looking to get on the same train as Kell Brook, with a fight against Bailey or Malignaggi. I think that Ricky could beat either of them and quite possibly Kell Brook, who I feel is over-rated and will come up short against the big names. Ricky wins a World Title again and then fights Khan next November and wins that by KO. Job done

As much as Barry is a rent a gob, Hatton could win a belt if matched well. Look at some of the strap holders in the sport.

if ricky can tempt micky vann out of retirement he could go all the way

I'd say he was 'haunted' 100%, months of doing pressers over here and there, believes he's going to be the bigger man, most people believe he has a chance. Talks the fight up gets the fans travelling over. Come fight night comes out like a numpty, head up hands down, goes down from almost every punch in the first then gets put too sleep in the second. It couldn't have gone any worse. No one expected 'that' to happen it was an embarrassment for that to happen to such a good\proud fighter as Ricky and I'm sure it still 'haunts' him.
