Don't judge Haye on one knockdown.

good point. But he does carry that lead hand too low! far too dangerous to do as he moives up with the better fighters. The other thing with David is its hard for him to get rounds under his belt as he keeps blasting them out..that could cause him problems as he moves up and finds a better level. Needs a solid 8 rounder under hos belt in my view but who could take him that far at this stage?

Like Kilburn has said Gurov is a serious puncher and probably top 5 in the world....

i think its fair to say that unless he gets tagged on the button, Haye can live with any cruiserweight for 4 rounds... 12 rounds at this stage is a different matter

good call, not that I knew who he was until i just checked him out on the records archive! but looks like a solid chinned journeyman from his record and class of opponents even if he hasnt won many he doesnt get knocked out hey (not even by enzo)..or perhaps Haye going in with "spartacus" in a fight or two's time is realisitic.....

These rumours never stop making me laugh. Its like being in a school playground working in this business sometimes!

Let me make this as clear as possible........David DID spar with Gurov the other week, they sparred 4 hard rounds the first day, in which I feel Gurov came off second best in every exchange. Two days later they were due to spar another 4 rounds, but Gurov stepped out after 3. Neither of them hit the canvas, and David was never in any difficulty.

With regards to David and Danny Williams sparring, again neither of them hit the floor during any of their electrifying spars. (you would pay good money to see them!)

Finally, when he sparred with Greenburg, hardly a single punch was landed by either of them, so again, no knockdowns!

Where and why these rumours are started is anyones guess, but it must be by someone with an interest in discrediting David in some way.

I fancy Haye could stop Bonson... he throws quicker shots than Enzo and throws from more unorthodox angles....

Leave Bonson alone, why does everybody talk about someone trying to knock him out. He is like homer in the episode of the simpsons. Homer takes up boxing and is told that medically he cant be knocked out!!! This character was definately based on Bonson!!!

Interesting account Sweet. I think Knockout mentioned something about Girov flooring Haye. He heard it as a rumour as he goes to the same gym but was not there at the time.

No, I dont know who knockout is, all I do know is that his info is a bit like chinese whispers. And WRONG.

yeah the rumours are all wrong. Haye did a number on Gurov and the guy didn't want to continue and apparently was embarassed that he was getting beat by a guy with less than 10 pro fights.

wasn't homer based on Peter McNeely? Guy whacks out a long line of stiffs then gets dqed against tyson (drederick tatum) when his manager intervenes (Moe).

Paul Bonson, as I've been wailing for ages, is a logical choice for Haye to get rounds. Bonson is cagey, runs around the ring with his chin tucked in and holds on for dear life if he gets hit. I think Bonson would find a way to survive against Haye.

Him and Enzo Macarinelli is surely the most exciting British fight out there. It should be made before either gets himself sparked. It won't due to promotional ties of course.

I saw the Greenberg session.

Greenberg put Haye over, not the other way round. It ws only a flash knockdown but apart form that the sessions were fairly even, but Greenberg was obviously stronger and appeared to have quicker hands.

your the second guy to say that in a day or so, looks like a credible opponent and think it would do david good to get some rounds under his belt. Lets hope they make the match up.

What happened with Greenburg and Williams i dont know, but with Gurov I know what happened. It was an exciting session with both trading some big shots

Knockout didn't say that Haye, or either man, was knocked down. He just said they went at it and it was exciting to watch.

For someone who has made a mere six posts on this forum you sure have a big mouth

I can assure you that I am not lying or hallucinating. The sparring took place in the gymnasium annexed to Jim Evans house in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

I was not the only person there, so there will be other witnesses.

In actual fact, Michael Sprott was there, and saw the session too.

Was Sprotty training there.
