He should definitely go for a big name. Then there's nothing to lose and he'll be in the best shape possible. He'll be up for it.

Ugh, I feared N'dou and hoped it'd be someone else.

If it's N'Dou I hope Hatton is fit enough to do 12 rounds.

Perfectly acceptable opponent for a comeback fight imo and should test Hatton just enough to show how much he might have left whilst not really threatening to beat him. Anyone hoping for somebody better was deluding themselves

It's not a bad choice, some of the choices on here were ridiculous.

Is this going to be at 140 or 147?
I'm sure I've heard this one is going to be at 147.
I reckon he'll try and go down to 140 if possible in the future though, he knows how hard he finds it at welter

Got to be some decent odds on Ndou by stoppage, Hatton might come back to find out he has nothing left and this is a great chance for Ndou.

Ha! Good one!

Seriously I would go for Ndou. But the way Hatton was talking he was going to be getting someone top notch to get him a title shot right away. Not sure Ndou fits that category any more, but as I said, it is probably the most sensible option

Matthew Hatton .Rickys already had it with the old man ,why not fight your brother ?
Its a great pay day for anyone so why not keep it family and he is the self proclaimed number 2 welter behind Brook.
I think Mike Jones is a bridge too far .
Maidana or N'dou good shouts.

Agree, he needs to avoid any fully fledged welters or big bangers. I would have gone with Steve Forbes or Spadafora for a comeback fight but N'dou is a fine choice too. Enough to test him without being very risky.
Shortlist thereafter would be Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Bradley, Guzman, Petersen, Garcia and Khan. Why go over old ground with Malignaggi? It's time to enhance the legacy.

Ok after watching Harrison there I understand how much ring rust can take away from a fighter, Karass wouldn't be the best option! Someone like Paddy McDonough would be better. Just the slight difference between Karass and McDonough haha

Rumours are Katsidis.

Not sure how much Katsidis has left but surely if he has anything left, a durable warrior like this could easily be trouble for Hatton.

will be a european fighter with a fancy record who in theory hasnt boxed anyone of note .
some dodgy Latvian with an 11-1 record , all wins vs journeyman and only loss is to a guy 2-6 , something along those lines .

Hattons three year retirement has consisted in scandal & rehab,he should ease his way back in & not be fighting straight in a 12 with an opponent who can complete the distance and see Ricky really struggle.

Ndou is a decent opponent I think. The people saying he should be in with Zab Judah etc were living in a dream World. I suggested Corley because he is old too but is durable and can go the 12 round distance whilst maintaining a reasonable work rate but doesn't punch like a train. Ndou at the mo is like that too. Interesting to see whether Ndou's WBF World title will be on the line
