Povetkin-Rahman, Pulev-Ustinov RBR & discussion
Re: Povetkin-Rahman, Pulev-Ustinov RBR & discussion
Pulev hurt by a big shot.
Re: Povetkin-Rahman, Pulev-Ustinov RBR & discussion
Pulev hurt near the end of the 7th, but he responded with some good shots of his own.
Re: Povetkin-Rahman, Pulev-Ustinov RBR & discussion
Ustinov is a mess. He rocked Pulev again at the start of the 8th, but lost the rest of the round.
Re: Povetkin-Rahman, Pulev-Ustinov RBR & discussion
Very entertaining heavy weight fight! Pulev's jab is a very sharp weapon.I very much hope that he wont run into one of Ustinov's big haymakers.Skillwise,Pulev plays in a different dimension.
Re: Povetkin-Rahman, Pulev-Ustinov RBR & discussion
Alexander Ustinov is a punk...a big over-grown 300 pound punk. He reminds me of a Russian Tye Fieldscrusader wrote:Ustinov is a mess. He rocked Pulev again at the start of the 8th, but lost the rest of the round.
Re: Povetkin-Rahman, Pulev-Ustinov RBR & discussion
Pulev wins by KO 11.
He's now the IBF mandatory.

Yep! You are right! He is RUSSIAN!!! Although he has a Belarussian passport he is not Belarussian.
Russian version of Tye Fields?? Well,he would probably wipe the floor with Fields. He isnt that bad,but he has been no match for Pulev today.
As for Pulev he took unesserary risks, wasnt as inactive as he was in some of his previous fights, and tried to take his opponent out of action quiete often.
Bloody well done job by the Bulgarian. I guess he is the most worthy challenger out there for the Klitschko brothers.
I am not even sure anymore if today's version of Vitaly will be victorious over Pulev.

Is the IBF tournament that was talked about still on?Tunney wrote:Pulev wins by KO 11.

No. Don King used his influence to keep Solis out of it.Halfamill wrote:Is the IBF tournament that was talked about still on?Tunney wrote:Pulev wins by KO 11.

I have a lot of interest in a Wlad/Pulev fight.
Re: Povetkin-Rahman, Pulev-Ustinov RBR & discussion
Me,too! I honestly think that this match will be the best possible at the big boys' league at present.dajuggernaut wrote:I have a lot of interest in a Wlad/Pulev fight.
Haye,Seth,Birmane,Arreola,Boytsov, and so on dont really deserve a shot at Wlad at the moment.
Pulev is the most worthy challenger out there for Wlad.
Re: Povetkin-Rahman, Pulev-Ustinov RBR & discussion
Pulev is decent, but will probably be too open for Wlad. He seems to take some risks though, which will make for a rare entertaining current day Wlad fight.
Re: Povetkin-Rahman, Pulev-Ustinov RBR & discussion
I quite agree with you.PUlev' s leaky defence and his tendency to take unnessesary risks will be his downfall against Wlad, but he deserves a shot at the Ukranian.I guess as long as their fight last it will be a highly entertaining one and fun to watch.Blodhemn wrote:Pulev is decent, but will probably be too open for Wlad. Why even mention that Belarussian comment???Odo wrote:

Ustinov was born and raised in Russia...end of story. Most people consider fighters from ANY former Soviet republics to be "Russian". The Klitschko brothers are a perfect example of this concept

pulev dropped ustinov in the 11th, ustinov quits

Me too. It will be more competitive than most Klitschko fights.dajuggernaut wrote:I have a lot of interest in a Wlad/Pulev fight.

Ustinov's expression and the way he put his arm up to his head after he went down reminded me of Gerald McLennan after taking the knee in his last fight.TheBeast wrote:pulev dropped ustinov in the 11th, ustinov quits

I hope the big guy is okay.

Because I am from Belarus and I dont care a fig whether some ignorant people in the english speaking western world mix up Russians with Ukranians or Belarussians.Goliath wrote:Why even mention that Belarussian comment???Odo wrote:

Ustinov was born and raised in Russia...end of story. Most people consider fighters from ANY former Soviet republics to be "Russian". The Klitschko brothers are a perfect example of this concept. Despite being officially Ukrainian, most fans still view them as Russian...which is what they are.
My nation is still struggling with the century long dominance of Russia.
And no,most fans worldwide dont view the Klitschkos as Russians. They are Ukranians, but they also have a bit of the so called Homo Sovietikus inside.
Well,I guess you have no clue what I am talking about.
Guess that most Russians or Chinese or Arabs dont make a difference between a Brit,an American,an Australian or an Irish
Offended? Nah! No offence intended! Belarus is not Russia, mate!!!

Ya you're missing the point though...Ustinov has ALL the goofy mannerisms of Tye Fields...
Ustinov looks goofy...fights goofy...he even acts goofy when you watch his post fight interviews and press conference statements. The former USSR produces some freaks of nature and Ustinov is definately of that echelon
I'd love to see an exibition match between Ustinov and Nicholay Valuev..just for amusement sake
