From a betting point of view I have a poor track record in Prizefighter but I'm going to have 50 quid on Gary Sykes.

They just interviewed Matthews he said the doctor had given him the all clear but the cuts were bad. I'd be amazed if he can win it with them injuries.

Ive backed Sykes but he has a tough draw and fights last which doesn't help. Starting to regret it now as I didn't look at the draw before I backed him. Schoolboy error!

Sykes wins but didn't look convincing and wobbled back to his corner after taking a couple of big shots 10 seconds from the end.
Prizefighter is a bit of a double edged sword; the fighters who are expected to win think its money for old rope and the unproven fighters have nothing to lose and go in all guns blazing. I've always hated the format as I dont count it as true boxing, its a novelty and a sideshow.
I feel bad for Derry but he'll come back as always!
