From a betting point of view I have a poor track record in Prizefighter but I'm going to have 50 quid on Gary Sykes.

Ben Carey wrote:I think Terry Flannigan is a decent bet to reach the final tonight. The three-round trip will suit him and he's got a nice quarter final draw against Patrick Liam Walsh.
I've put a few bob each way on him I think he could do well.

10/1 available on Matthews winning after finishing his first round fight looking like a butchers chopping board.

They just interviewed Matthews he said the doctor had given him the all clear but the cuts were bad. I'd be amazed if he can win it with them injuries.

There's no way Matthews can win now. Those cuts are just going to open up so much.

Ive backed Sykes but he has a tough draw and fights last which doesn't help. Starting to regret it now as I didn't look at the draw before I backed him. Schoolboy error!
Flannigan beats Walsh 30-27 all all the cards

I don't even know why I bothered, I hate betting on prizefighter but felt obliged to have a bet on it.
How are you m8? I'll be across Belfast beginning of next year you'll have to come out for a pint or ten!

Sykes wins but didn't look convincing and wobbled back to his corner after taking a couple of big shots 10 seconds from the end.

Prizefighter is a bit of a double edged sword; the fighters who are expected to win think its money for old rope and the unproven fighters have nothing to lose and go in all guns blazing. I've always hated the format as I dont count it as true boxing, its a novelty and a sideshow.
I feel bad for Derry but he'll come back as always!

He's a blatant rip off of the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase Macho... you would know!
Good first round for Crolla
