I know John went 10 with buchanan. Think donnie was the best in the pros.
Jim only fought twice as a pro I think. Don't know how good an am he was - pretty sure he boxed for scotland, could be wrong though.

I'm from Brighton so it has to be Chris Eubank. I know he wasn't born there but he made it his adopted hometown. Could often be seen in his huge truck, trying to squeeze it through the lanes with a look of smug eccentricity. If he wanted a bit of fresh air he would get out his push scooter and wheel down the roads in that.
Wasn't he training the Angolan boxing team? And didn't their sole qualifier not turn up?

Originally from Coventry so have to say Errol Christie. Was in the same class at school as Steve Bendall who was pretty good.
Lived in Newport for last 13 yrs, so from here i'd say Paul Samuels (in my time here)

Southampton: would say it is the McCarthy brother who won a British title. Had high hopes for Tony Hill so hope he can turn himself around in what is a tough tough division.

Manchester, has to be Hatton i reckon. We've produced a few good ones over the years but not sure we have had many bigger or better than Ricky

Struggling a bit here although it goes without saying that Luke Campbell is the most decorated amateur but we're talking professionals aren't we.
Tommy Coyle, still a bit green but has potential.
Then we've got...erm...Terry Morrill, Pete Waudby...Tony Booth?!
I'll go with Booth on the strength of his number of wins.

Edlington (near Doncaster) Bruce Woodcock used to own a pub there, The Tumbler back in the late 70's when I was a nipper.

I think I will lay claim to Eubank too, think he was born in Dulwich and spent some time in his youth in Peckham. The beauty of London though is if we can increase the distance by "a bit" from my actual birth place I can lump in Lloyd Honeyghan, Henry Cooper, David Haye.... Danny williams etc

I grew up in Wallington. A South London town right by Croydon. Only me, my parents and about five other people lived in Wallington. I'm now living in Croydon.
I guess Duke McKenzie is the most famous boxer to come from there. Currently I watch Lenny Daws a lot, as Morden isn't very far from where I grew up, to the point me and him were born in the same hospital.

dudley- darren mcdermott was very unlucky not to b british champ( head clash v elcock) and was due to fight for it again then had to retire due to injury. 2 time english champ lost to barker for commonwealth title. 2 lads close behind upcoming ryan aston and chris male

Coventry - Have to make a case for Danny McAlinden due to winning British & Commonwealth honours at heavyweight. We've not had a great deal of domestic honours in this city

Burton on Trent originally so Neville Brown, could possiblly make a case for Jack Bodell (nearby Swadlincote). Now Aberystwyth so not much choice, therefore Alan Jones probably (lost to Scott Dann for British Middle title).

My friend owns the thatched cottage that he was born in. Has a blue heritage thing outside to show he was born there. My mates bedroom is believed to be the room that Ruby Rob was born in

Donnies brother Angus was a good pro as well,i learned a lot off Angus when he came into our club when i was about 15-16,Rab Affleck as well who was a family friend and trained in our gym as a pro,and Paul Weir 2 weight world champ,but the best has got to be Jackie Patterson born 5th September, Springside, Irvine, 1920 World Flyweight Champion 1943-1948,his record was second to none for a Scottish fighter

Gary Mason lived in Wallington when he died. In fact, I was staying at my parents when he died, and was probably no more than a few hundred metres away from where I was sleeping.

Ivor Bucks, The Finnegan brothers Kevin & Chris both British Champs, both Euro Champs & of course Chris put up a great show against the great Bob Foster for the World Title.
Harrow Middlesex, Pat McCann Southern Area Lt/heavyweight champion from the 70's who twice beat Johnny Frankham.

Come on, we all know naz was number 1, ryan never made it to the top, Johnny was wbo champ and nothing more, junior was WBC champ and fell apart after that, and kell and kid g are just pretenders.

Forgot all about Patterson. Would have been great if he fought Lynch when both were at their peaks.
